a little history, growing up, we were very poor, and my mother used to make me answer the door to the bill collectors while she hid...anyway, just now at work, my coworker and office mate, who gets a lot of calls at work from bill collectors, just got a call on the main phone line, we have a separate line in the office, anyway, she had an arrogant one call her last week, and she hung up on him, anyway, to this morning, she got the call, and asked me to pick it up and if it was a man, just take the name and number, anyway, it was a work related call and she took it but who the F does she think she is putting me in that position! after she hung up, she said she didn't want to deal with him...but why the F should i????

Oh, that was so unfair of your mother to do that to you!!!  But it's even more wrong of your coworker to even THINK to ask that of you.

Next time, tell her, no, nicely or not.  Tell her you have enough on your plate without getting involved in HER business.  If she continues to do that to you, you may not have a choice but to go to your supervisor.  You don't need the added stress!!!

Hugs,

Tia

Char:  She's got some nerve and I'm sure with you it brings back old feelings.  Let her know that she need to tell the bill collectors not to call her at work.  I believe once she says that, they are not supposed to call her at work.

she has told them with me in the room that this is her home number....thanks...it is just very upsetting to me...I know because of what happened when I was a kid but....it's wrong of her to even ask me to do this....

And, Char, STOP beating yourself up about the snack cake!!!  Trust me, even post-op, you may find yourself wanting to turn to food for comfort!!  It takes a LONG time for our brains to catch up.

That whole situation made you feel bad enough, you do NOT have our permission to do this to yourself!!!

Hugs,

Tia

Char, if she ask's you again tell her no and if the calls dont stop you will report it to supervisor , it is a work atmosphere right, they do not need to call here there and if you answer it by accident and they tell you who they are tell them this is a business phone and its not work related to please stop calling but by all means tell them its the maryland police department.
