Ugh. Another Upper GI.
This will be my 6th one. The first one made me so upset because it was just awful. Now I'm on my 6th. Plus they make me have "loose stool". I live about an hour from GBMC, so that is not a fun ride home.
Dr. Moein wants one just to check things out in there and make sure stuff is okay after my 2nd surgery. On the 22nd I have an endoscopy for the same reason. I just wish I could skip the Upper GI. Plus I am so freaking thirsty. My appt is at 10, and I'm bringing water with me to chug afterwards.
Of course, my inlaws were supposed to be here at 845 to take me, but it is now 901 and no inlaws. I'm secretly hoping they forgot and I'll have to cancel. A girl can dream, right?

I survived. Those damned inlaws showed up to take me.
Unfortunately it took forfreakingever. I wanted to scream "Just give me the vileness and lets get this over with!"
Kate (Dr. M's NP) came down and watched the test and both her and the radiologist agreed that everything looked fine. Unfortunately by the time I got dressed, I have to have some of that good old loose stool! At least it happened before the hour long car trip home!
Kate called me before I got home with some other test results. I have a "raging" UTI. I have no symptoms, though. So now I need to add liquid Cipro to my cache of medicines. I also need to start Vit D (my level is 17, normal is 32-100). She also suggested Biotin since my hair is falling out non-stop. My legs are still numb, despite my regimine of Thiamin, Folic Acid and B-12 shots, so she thinks it could be my stomach pressing on my leg veins and cutting off circulation and suggested an ab binder or pregnancy band.
In good news, I drank a 20 oz. bottle of water before we got half way home. That's about as much as I get some days period (since the 2nd surgery). I've drank more since then, too. I think I may be getting my "thirst" back, which is fantastic. I've been managing to take all of my meds every day (synthroid, paxil, thiamin, folic acid, flinstones, prevacid). Now we'll be adding in the Vit D and maybe Biotin. Eating is still iffy. But they gave me the normal hospital gown, didn't even get the big one out. And it fit. So that made me pretty happy today.
