gastric ballooning?

I am watching something on the science channel called gastirc ballooning, where they place a saline balloon in your stomach...this is in italy....has anyone heard of this?

nope never. I did alot of research looking on other boards and stuff when I was first considering surgery but I dont think I ever heard this mentioned. But who is to say maybe I did and just didnt know what they were talking about...lol

it's only available in europe from what they said in the ending part of the program....I only caught the last 10 minutes or so of it...but it's definitely not for me...they go through the mouth and it stays in for 6 months and then you go back, they reverse the process and take it out...

If they were severely overweight before getting this baloon, and then the Drs take it out after 6 months, most folks would put the weight back on once their stomach had no more restriction.  That is why diets do not work, in my opinion, and from what the research says about 40% of weight lost in diets being regained in the US.  Maybe in Europe they will have a different success rate.  The portion sizes in the US are way large in comaprison to, say ,France.
