Recommend a Primary Care Physician?

You guys came to the rescue before, so here I am again...

I relocated here and am nearly 6 years out from surgery.  I haven't seen (nor needed) a PCP until now.  I have great insurance (not an HMO) and would like a recommendation on a PCP that is familiar with the aftercare and also, if possible, familiar with cross additiction issues.  Location is not the primary concern, but I work in Towson and live North of there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My PCP was in Arnold and she left (close to the bay bridge area) So I went to a womens doctor and have only seen her once since surgery so not to familiar with her yet. Good luck and hopefully someone can give you someone in your area

Love my PCP.  She has offices in Catonsville and Towson.  She is RNP, but she's been my PCP for years and she's more knowledgable than any doctor I've ever had.

there are a lot of excellent doctors associated with GBMC and st. joe's.  you may want to work backwards from there.

I would like to know of any PCPs that are well versed in RNY aftercare.  Addictions issues are usually turfed to psychiatry/therapists and/or addictions specialists.  I don't know of a PCP familiar with the aftercare of RNY- but my PCP Dr. Ann Morrill- is receptive to the aftercare recommendations that I printed off the GBMC website under info for physicians.  She is pro WLS and is a person of size herself so she understands the challenges of weight and its loss.  I ask for labwork, scans etc  and non-extended release rxs when necessary just to be sure.  She is accepting of proactive, assertive, health care educated patients but readily refers her patients to specialists given her generalist practice with some focus in endocrinology.

I see Dr. Leonard Rauscher in Timonium. 410-561-5773. He's very easy going and easy to talk to.
Hugs!
