should I be offended?

okay so yesterday I was walking past a group of detectives and one of them is a jokester, he likes to pretend he is falling on you when you walk past him, so I knew he would do it, and I did a quick sidestep around him and shook my finger at him, laughing, and the sergeant standing there said, darn, didn't use that word but...well...you get the picture, I didn't know you were so agile...so should I be offended? I felt kind of, but I don't think he meant it as an insult...

i guess i wouldn't be offended, but it was a stupid thing to say.  i had a guy on my first day back to work come into my cube and ask me to stand up and turn around so he could "see."  i realize he was talking about my weightloss, but seriously.... did he think that was appropriate?  some people just don't think before they speak even when they mean well.

You've got to be kidding?!  That is exactly why I don't want to tell people at work.  It amazes me at the things people will say to you.

i didn't either, but EVERYONE knows.  prepare for the worse and hope for the best.

Some times I think the mouth engages before the brain...of course, I had the last word, I turned around and said to them, there are a lot of things about me that you don't know and they all started laughing...but still...I walk miles a day so even though I am fat...I can move! LOL

I think what you said was a great comeback!  Also, what's with the guy "falling" on women at the office?  That sounds very much like sexual harrassment to me, and very inappropriate. 
You are right, being able to walk a mile a day is really good.

"You know men, they speak before they think"?  Hey, I resemble that remark, damnit!!!  Lol.  I think you have the right idea.  You realize they didn't really mean anything by it, but sometimes people do open their mouths and just let words come out without thinking.  I'm sure it was meant as harmless fun.
