3 THINGS FOR TUESDAY

GOOD MORNING MARYLAND

Well, since I don' know if Tia will be back on the boards today I will start the thread.
I am a bit early but I had to get up early to drink 24 ounces of fluid and be at the
lab by 7:30 -  can we say sonogram and mammogram right after :  aaarrrggghhh

And can we say drink 24 ounces of fluid and hold it for an hour   Double the AAARRRGGGHHH

Anyway I am going to be on and off the boards all day :  I have taken the day off
to get the test done and run what seems like a dozen different errands.

1.  That my weekends are4 so busy with fun and friends that I need to take a day off
to do the essential errands LOL

2.  Repeat from yesterday:  The health of my parents :  Mom came out with me Saturday
and enjoyed spending the time with me and my friends.  She is such a great
supporter and cheerleader for me :  I just love her to pieces.  So many people
often wonder if its hard living at home with parents:  for some I think it might be;
but I am fortunate enough to have the greatest parents in the world;  Do they
get on my nerves at times :  sure they do -- but the good times outway the
bad -  and I treasure this time with them.

3.  That vacation is just weeks away instead of months :  It seemed like it would
never get here.

So thats mine for today :  What are you grateful for my friends?

Good Morning Gang!

I will try to consolidate to 3 again ;)

1.  For my kids - they are healthy and wonderful and just a joy!  Today they leave for a week in *****oteague with their dad - and I am thankful that he is taking them on a vacation this year - they will have a great time just before school starts.

2. For my motivation that has come from several places - Andy's original exercise post about a month ago, and having a new walking partner at night - I have been exercising more and more consistently over the past month than ever before. And I feel wonderful!  Yesterday I walked at work for 20 min, walked last night for 25 or 30 minutes, and did about 25 min of toning.

3.  For my friends - there are so many good people in my life - at work, on the internet, in my neighborhood - it is just so wonderful to be surrounded by genuinely good people. Yea, there are some yucky ones, but the good outnumber the bad by far!

Have a great day everyone!

My three things:

1)  I'm feeling healthy, strong, and really happy.  What could be better than that?

2)  I made it into work ON TIME!  I am always a few minutes late.  Well, more like 20 minutes or so.  But today, I got Baby Bubba up and out of the house in record time, and sat at my desk before my normal starting time.  Will it be a trend?  Uhhhhh, probably not.

3)  I tried on a pair of size 16 pants last night from my closet, and they fit!  Well, I still cant, technically, wear them out of the house because I couldn't get them snapped, but I could at least get them on and zipped, which is a huge accomplishment for me.  What an ego boost!

Have a great day, everyone.

Sort of one giant grateful this morning ...

That I brought Lefty home from the vet last night instead of going through with my intention to 'let him go'.   The vet assured me that while Lefty is probably uncomfortable, he is not in pain and is not suffering as such, so I was able to be ok with bringing him home.

For a husband who stood at the vet and cried with me over Lefty last night and was no more able than I was to let go

For an understanding boss who when I told her yesterday that it was ONLY the cat that had me in tears she told me there was no such thing as ONLY the cat.  That he was a member of the family.

Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

Today I am grateful for

1) My bridesmaid dressit fit and all it needed to do was be taken in at my bust line. I knew that would happen. They think because you are plus size you have a big bust......lol and that there not as short as I thought they were. (tea lenght dresses)

2) The bride FINALLY picked the color of shoes so now I am on the hunt for white wedges or thick heel that wont fall into the grass during the ceremony.

3) That this wedding is almost OVER..............so much drama a few months ago and now they are down to the wire and it is getting crazy

Darla,

Good luck with the tests today!

My list for today:

1 - Getting back to the gym - It felt so good to finally get back to the gym last night. I dragged my feet all the way there. But once I was there and finished my workout, I felt so much better. Now to build on that and do it again tonight!

2 - Friends - I am so thankful to know you are all there. I am especially thankful for the opportunity to see some of you in person. Sometimes, it is so hard to put all of the conflicting feelings and frustrations in writing. As much as my non-WLS friends want to be supportive of me, I feel it is too hard for them to really understand what I am talking about sometimes. This time it was Darla and Antoinette who were there for me at the gym last night and let me vent all of my frustrations in a long stream. They may not even have realized how much better it felt to just get that out. It was only 5-10 minutes and I was not expecting a solution. I just needed to vent. I don't have all of the answers yet, but I refuse to give up. I will get through this!

3 - Finding ways to make myself feel good - While nothing really special, I am wearing a new blouse today (just a sale thing from WalMart). It is a flattering style. And of course, it is PINK! I like many colors, but there is something about pink that is uplifting for me!

Have a super day!

Debbie

I'm thankful for many things today, but I'll limit it to three. In no particular order, I am thankful for:

1.  Having a girlfriend that is soooo understanding.  See, she came across a message from my best friend's little sister that had wls earlier this year and she's had a crush on me for quite a while.  The message she found could have been taken the wrong way, but she does trust me, which is good for me.  I would NEVER do her wrong.

2.  Unemployment Compensation.  Man oh man, does anybody in the Elkton Maryland area know of anyone hiring a hard-working 41 year old father of two young children trying to start his life over?

3.  The internet.  Seriously.  Without it, I'd be pulling my hair out (a little late for that I guess), bored off my ass.  I need a job!!!!!!!!!!

"No matter how hard life may get, no matter how many curveballs you are thrown, keep in mind, if you want to succeed - QUITTING IS NOT AN OPTION"!!!
