surgery date before insurance approval?

Hi All-
   I have a consult with Dr. Singh at the end of the month.  Obviously as soon as I get insurance approval (keep your fingers crossed!) I would like a surgery date asap.  Will they give me a surgery date pending insurance approval?  I am so anxious and excited to get this weight off and start a new healthier plus...I am getting married in March!!! Thanks for any info!

I have heard of doctors getting you a date before approval. Good luck and keep us posted. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I wish I would of had the surgery before my wedding. I look at my pictures and it doesnt look like me

I am a pt of Dr. Singh i just got my surgery date yesterday. You have to be approved from Insurance first. My surgrey date is 9/29. Good luck

Dr. Singh's office will set your date as soon as they receive the approval.  It's usually very fast to get the date...just keep your fingers crossed that he isn't booked too heavily....you might have a little wait for surgery.  But, it will be worth it.
