Ok, so I went for the kids but brought home stuff for myself.  Now, the boys did buy a couple of movies and some books.  But, I SCORED buying pants!!

Two pairs of Levis.  A pair of Banana Republic jeans that my husband says give me a "bubble butt" in a good way.  A pair of Talbot khakis and a pair of Green Tea yoga pants that I was just looking at in a catalog.  In the catalog they were $49.  I bought them for 4.61!!!  Anyway, all the jeans were 6's and the yoga pants small!!!  I still cannot believe I buy clothing in that size.  After being a 30/32 for so long it still floors me.

WOW!!!! Gotta love a frugal shopper. Good for you! I would LOVE to be a size 6...that has to feel GREAT! I have been a size 24 forever it seems like! A new Goodwill opened up near me on Ritchie Highway but I have not been in there. Come to think of it I have not been in one since last Halloween..IM OVERDUE! LOLOL ~Jilly~

Jilly,

Never in a million years did I think I would be this small.  Before surgery my goal was to be a 10 which was the smallest I had been since the 6th grade.  I even bought several pairs of pants in that size before I got to it because I was conviced that was the size I would be.  I would have been happy there too.  For the longest time I thought I had a large frame.  Turns out I was a small framed person all along.

Best of luck to you and your journey.

That is awesome! I love thrift store shopping! I've found some awesome finds that way since surgery. I'm with you on the sizes! It does floor you when you never in a million years thought you could be in single didget sizes. You go girl!!!! That would be an awesome OH outing.....we go through so many sizes so quickly and it gets very expensive. You look amazing and being able to shop ANYWHERE is a real great feeling, isn't it? Funny thing is now that I need smaller sizes whenever my mom and I go to the thrift stores all we can find are the plus sizes that we could never find before! LOL Go figure! Like you, I never in a million years thought I would ever be in 8's or 10's and medium tops! The 26/28's seem like all I would ever be in. It's still that whole head thing! Take care and have a great day!

Heather,

Thank you.  You're right it is nice to shop just about anywhere.  Funny yesterday while at Goodwill I found a beautiful shirt but it was an XL.  I tried rationalize getting it.  DUH.  Somtimes your head is just not there.  Also, when I look at clothes that fit I hold them up and still think "man, these are going to be too small."  But, they fit.

Kim,
I do the same thing. It's so true about the head being the last to catch up. At this point, I'm wondering....does the head ever truely catch up with our weight loss??? Would love some imput from people who are further out on that one. Everytime I think my head is catching up something happens and the whole 'fat girl' syndrome comes back. It's frustrating!!!

You'll get there.  Trust me when you first shop you will try to buy down to the next size.  But, try a smaller one.  I had surgery at at 30/32 and did not buy anything again untill I was a 22.  In my head I figured I was a 26 or a 28.

I find shopping to be MUCH more fun now.

my mother gave me this lecture about how i will have to shop places like goodwill while i'm "going through sizes," but i had to laugh because she said it as though i ordinarily would never consider doing this.  not sure where she ever got the idea that i'm some kind of clothes snob.  i seriously laughed at her.

Trust me, thrift shopping is much smarter than mall shopping.  I bought things new that I have never had the opportunity to wear and I have just ended up giving them away.  I know I have wasted plenty of money doing that.  Now, I still shop at Ann Taylor and such but will hit the thrift shops.  I spent less money at Goodwill on 5 items than I did on my last pair of Eddie Bauer (outlet) jeans that no longer fit.
