What's Going On?
First, let me say I am so happy to see some new members posting to the boards that is encouraging. Second, what has happened to our regular's I miss those posts, it was nice to come to the board and see those familiar avatars on the side bar. Maybe it is because it is summer and everyone is on vacation, or that they are there and I am just missing them because of work I don't post during the weekday much. It just seems like over the past few weeks we have lost the "zest" we use have. I love everyone on this board and could never have gotten through these last few months without all of you. If you are out there please come back we need your charm, wit, wisdom, humor and you!! Have a great day!!!!

Good morning Terri!!
Weekends are notoriously slow on the boards, though once in a while they have some ooooooooomph and get busy!
We were gone all day Saturday to a picnic that was a blast .. and a nice ride to Southern MD in the convertible. We haven't had it out much this year so I enjoyed every minute Saturday.
Yesterday I spent a lot of quality time with my Lefty (the almost 18 y/o very geriatric cat). His time is coming and I'm in serous denial. As a matter of fact, I need to call the vet in a few minutes about getting in there tonight. I know they will want to run blood tests to find out what is wrong, but nothing is going to make him better. He's stopped eating anything including his treats. Yesterday I could get some chicken into him, but this a.m. he had NO interest. He just stares at me with those "I love you mommy" eyes and my heart breaks.
Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday!
Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!
If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished. Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago. I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits! Wherever you are in your journey ... It's ALL good!!!
Hey Terri,
I mentioned this briefly in my exercise thread. It's a valid point. I know when I first moved down here from PA, this board was nonstop active - especially during the mornings and afternoons. For some reason, its never been a nighttime board. I guess most people have internet access from work. LOL. Anyway, I want to plead and beg right next to you.
My friends, if you are out there just lurking, please chime in. There is a great group of people here and this is a great tool for support, companionship, etc... I, for one, plan on being MUCH, MUCH more active. We CAN NOT let it die, or even slow down. I'm not sure how many of you know, but we also have the luxury of a Maryland chatroom. If, it any time, you want to chat live here, we can set that up. If you're bored and just want to post that you'll be in the chatroom at such and such a time if anyone wants to join in, you can do that. Or, like I set up on the PA board, we can have a designated time every day/night that the chatroom will be active. No, it's not nearly as big as the main chatroom, but that's for obvious reasons - 50 states and Canada versus just little old Maryland. But, size doesn't necessarily equal quality conversation. The tight-knit group we have here can make for a fun chat session.
I know I live at least an hour from most of you and even further from some of you, but I do plan on getting to meet everyone. I know Aaron has a birthday bash coming up and I am running the October 5th 5K. I can't wait to finally meet all you fine people. Now, I want to start seeing those avatars a little more often.

"No matter how hard life may get, no matter how many curveballs you are thrown, keep in mind, if you want to succeed - QUITTING IS NOT AN OPTION"!!!
Hi Terri.
I'm more of a 'lurker', and I truly value much of the info and pointers I pick up from time to time. I don't know if I fit into the "newer member" group, but I can tell you that one reason I don't post very often is because the MD board -- and this is just my opinion -- seems to be quite "clicky".
So, for now, I think I'll continue to lurk a bit more. I hope to post more often in the future.
Katherine
