Darla,

You are so sweet to do this in his honor.  I have been feeliong melancholy since my Mom's birthday was on the 7th and it will be 5 years since her passing on September 18th.  She did not have pancreatic cancer but she had Cholangio Carcinoma. It is an aggressive cancer like the pancreatic cancer and the sympotoms are almost identicle. They both fall in the same category except the Cholangio one is rare. She was diagnosed June 24th and passed on 9-18 it was horrible.
When is the walk? I didn't see a date? Maybe I can join you and do it in the honor of your friend and my mother.

Let me know.
Hugs,

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Darla,

First and foremost I will keep that family in my prayers. I lost my father to pancreatic cancer in Feb VERY quickly after diagnosis. I had actually already seen this walk because I am a big advocate of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PANCAN), but I may be on work travel quite a bit in October - I was holding off on registering for the wal****il I got my travel schedule.

If I can't walk, I will certainly sponsor you in honor of your friend and in memory of my dad, and so many others that we lose to this cancer.

The frustrating thing is that, statistically, pancreatic is the most deadly of the cancers, yet in  only 1% of NIH's cancer research money went to this one.

Thanks for doing this - if we can fund research so that one less family has to go through this hell, it is worth it!

Thanks Caryn:  I spoke with his wife yesterday and quite frankly there is no hope.
He's in his late 70's so the age thing will not work in his favor;  He has been put into
hospice care.  Mom and Dad visited him last Thursday and Mom told me he is not
doing well at all :  Hes not eating and when he does try and eat it comes right back up.

Unfortunatly they never had children so his wife will be left alone.

I am going to see if  I can get some members if the congregation to walk with me.
