Where to go for a sleep study?
I did mine overnight at GBMC. They do the split study, where they put CPAP on you 1/2 way through and monitor you more, if you show signs of apnea. I had a private room with my own bathroom and shower to get ready for work the next morning. A queen sized pillow top bed, cable TV, etc. There was only 1 other person scheduled the same night as I was. She was a patient of DVR. Our tech was so sweet, and she even remembered me and complimented my weight loss when I ran into her at GBMC a few months ago.
As far as the my surgeon is better than yours... I didn't take anything said as negative. I would hope that we ALL feel that way. I think it's critical to our success to feel as though we chose the best surgeon and best practice for ourselves. I think GBMC has had some major stumbles since I entered their program, but I still hold my surgeon and Dr. Von Rueden who is now at St. Agnes in the highest regard as the best there is! Their pre-op info was very comprehensive and had lots of recommendations for sleep clinics, and all other specialists that they required me to see.
