vitamins
Hello! I'm sure you will receive alot of different answers to this one...lol
For me, I'm only 3 weeks post-op and I take the NutraMetrix Liquid Multivitamin with Iron and also Liquid Calcium Complete. I order them from www.myvitamins.nutrametrix.com They say the liquid vitamins are better obsorbed, so I want to do my best early out...lol
As for the protein, the only one's I seem to beable to handle is the chocolate EAS and chocolate unjury.
Hope this helps.
Teri

although i do believe that the vitamins teri referenced are the best, i couldn't handle them post-op. i had to switch to chewable centrum and chewable caltrate 600. i'm getting my first blood tests tomorrow and the results next week, so i'll find out if they're doing the trick. i hope so.
i have tried a lot of different shakes and i've done okay with all of them, but the EAS Myoplex Lites are the cheapest I have found so far. I really should be switching to powder to save money, but I haven't done that yet.

Hi there,
As a newly post op I took liquid centrum for about 6 weeks, then I switched to chewables for abother 3 months. I had liquid calcium called tropical Oasis I bought online. Then when I was told I could swollow pills I switched to Citracal and the off brand at sams club you get more for the same amount you pay. Every vitamin I buy at walmart has worked great for me and my blood work has been perfect.
As for the protein shakes I have tried EAS at walmart but the one I purchase all the time is the body fortress whey protein. $14.00 for an almost 2 pound jug.. Vanilla flavor and I save lots of money buy this protein powder.
Best of luck....

hmmmm......I think when I first started out (and I'm still fairly new too) I took and still take flintstones complete chewable multivitamins and calcium citrate as well as the vitamin B12 dots sublingual that I ordered from drugstore.com. Right now I'm trying the bariatric advantage calcium lozenges (chocolate flavor) and they aren't bad but I'd rather have chewables than sucking on a powdery lozenge but it tastes pretty good.
As for protein, I was an unjury user but they didn't have much of a variety of flavors (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, unflavored--great way to hide your protein in mushy foods, and chicken soup flavored) however I made the switch to Whey Gourmet that I order from bariatriceating.com. So far I have the creamy dreamy milk chocolate and the classic chocolate chip mint flavors.....I really like them and they are about $28 per two pound jug and they last a good while.
