I think thats what it was called on channel 41 last night , Did anyone watch it ? It was one with WLS, and Some great things and some scary as hell with the Lap band and Plastic surgery with it as well, gross and sad. I could't take my eyes off it, showed the actually surgery and how the lap band slipped and got engrossed in the stomach wall, they had to do a bypass and leave it in? but it worked out just felt so bad for her because she lost her weight and then gained it all and more back , but in the end she started loosing again after the Rouen y. Scary but I guess thats what we have to take a chance on with these things, It comes back on again not sure when will watch the channel today to see really informative .

LOL it's Big Medicine, but close.

Have to correct one thing. It wasn't a lap band that she had. It was an old procedure that they don't do anymore called a Melina band.

It was old, outdated technology. The new bands that they are using are quite different, and what the doctors know, and educate their patients about is very different and much more comprehensive.

I'd hate to have someone think that it was a lap band and become discouraged about having the surgery.
Hugs!

Urghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I so wanted to watch that, and missed it!!!!  This is the 2nd week in a row that I missed it...I know it comes on at 10 pm on the Discovery Channel on Wednesdays.  I'm going to set the alarm on my phone for it next week.  Sounds like I missed a good episode.  Thanks for the recap!

I missed that one but I do like to watch both before and after surgery. I like to be aware just in case I experience any symptoms. I have learned from shows like that and from the experiences of others from support groups and here. I know not to ignore symptoms, but follow up before it becomes serious. If you look at the statistics, the incidence rate of complications is very low. But they do still happen. I like the idea of feeling prepared. It has never detered me from my choice to go forward.
