Welcome and ask any questions you may have :  As far as recovery time that would depend on the surgury you choose and your own body :  everyone is different.

Hi Bridgette and welcome to the MD boards.

Recovery time is different for everyone. Also depends on the typ of surgery you have Laproscopic or Open. I had open and took off an entire month (I was a nanny at the time so lifting kids was out of the question) I was in the hospital from Monday to Thursday. I starting feeling better about a week after my surgery but felt great when they took the staples out and was cleared to drive.

The one thing to look forward to is HAVING YOUR LIFE BACK AFTER WLS. Life is filled with so much now and gets busier and busier each week.

Good luck and keep posting and keep us updated on your journey
