Thanks to all!! I'm baaaaack!!
Hey all!!
Here I am...doing very well!! I did just have 2 Percocet (LOVE THEM!!!!) . Anyway, I love Dr. Singh and everyone at St. Agnes was awesome...very competent, professional and really caring! I have stayed ay St. Joe's, GBMC and Union Memorial and was really impressed with St. Agnes...I think in Baltimore it doesn't get the credit it deserves..really I can't think of ONE thing that ticked me off, or made me question the quality of care I was getting!! Amazing...I guess this means so much to me, because anymore, anywhere you go, you run into incompetence and it is especially frightening when it occurs with "health care" professionals...so I really feel good about the decision I made and the staff at St. Agnes ensured that to be true!!
I am still sore on tummy, but moving around nicely, slept okay in hospital, took a nap today when we got home and am truly looking forward to the rest of my life!! WOOHOO!!
Thanks to all of you for being there, watching out for me and all the members here, it is so comforting to know that we can log on and get support, a laugh, a tip or an ear to vent to!! What a wonderful thing!!
I may be on sparsely until this computer chair feels better on my heiny!!, but until then...my thought and prayers are with all of us always!!

Thanks all!! I just had lap band surgery Aug 5th...I feel better each day!!
At our pre-op meeting the gal mentioned that no matter what, there would be loose skin...and I believe she meant, surgery needed loose skin..can anyone speak to this> Is that always the case, with 80-100lbs weight loss for example? I want to lose that much weight, and I know it is one step at a time, and I get the need for exercise in regards to tightening the skin, but has anyone learned any tips or tricks or added routines that can eliminate the need for skin surgery??

Alicia,
First, welcome to the rest of your life! I am glad things are going well for you.
The amount of loose skin really depends on so many factors, but in particular, age, weight, and heredity. As with everything else in this journey, the experience is truly a personal one. Exercise is critical for our overall good health and weight loss and it can definitely help tone the muscles.
I am not an expert on this topic though and am still on the journey.
