Darla,

If your only concern is so you don't burn on the cruise, my suggestion is to take SPF 30 or higher with you and use it.  Reapply when you get out of the pool or if you end up sweating a lot.  You know how pale I am and I use SPF 30 whenever I'm at the beach.  I prefer the Target brand of spray sunscreen (it's the purple container and comes 2 in a pack).  Just spray, no need to rub it in.  I use it on Kylie as well and neither of us has burned being in the sun for 2-3 hours straight.  We've also gotten a nice little tan along with it, but never burned.  Enjoy the cruise and I want pics of you in those dresses!!!!

Revised to VSG (6/11/09) weighing 253...

Thanks for the input Heather ;  and I am sure Kathy  won't mind taking some pictures of me in
those beautiful dresses.  I am so excited about the trip - even more so now that I don't have to buy clothes for evening that I would probably never wear again LOL -  except of course too
my nieces wedding.  I am sure there will be cameras all over the place that day.

Hi Darla,
I agree with the consensus.  Tanning causes skin damage and possibly skin cancer. It is a sticky hot claustrophobic experience and costly as well.  You can burn in a tanning bed and I can attest to that, having fried my breasts and my ass before LOL!
My sister, father, and Grandmother have all had melanomas removed due to sun damage.  The spray tan sessions that you can get where you don't have to do the applying are the most even and no fuss no muss.  I recommend those.  Use lots of spray on waterproof sunscreen when you do go out into the sun.  The waterproof ones tend to be drier and  less slippery.
Let me just say I am SO excited for you and Kathy to be going on thsi cruise!  I hope you girls share photos when you get home.
Let me know how your makeover goes!  What fun you are going to have.  Enjoy the attention, you've earned it.  Are you gojng to get clothes, hair, nails, and makeup?  Let's have photos of that as well, ok?  See you the 17th! Hugs!
