No Seat Belt Extender and the Tray went Flat!!!!
Hi All,
Just wanted to share my "WOW" moment from the weekend. I traveled from BWI to Atlanta to visit my two best girlfriends. I was very nervous about fitting into the seat. I fully expected to have to use a seat belt extender and was prepared to not get the snack and drink since in the past, I've never been able to unlatch the tray table and have it drop all the way down to the fully open/flat position.
Well, I'm delighted to report that neither of my seat mates, who were each already seated when I arrived, (going or coming back) gave me the "oh no, I'm sitting next to the fat lady look". I had already whispered to the flight attendant (on my outbound flight) that I might need an extender and she gave me a look as if to say, "I doubt it, but if you say so."
I sat, ever so gingerly, trying not to touch my seat mate and I didn't!!! I tugged on the seatbelt, ever so gently, praying that it would close, and it did!! Later, I asked for an ice water and peanuts, and casually opened the tray and when it fell flat, I busted out laughing!! My seatmate then thought I was crazy, but at that point I didn't care.
My airplane demons are GONE FOREVER and I knew that only you guys would understand!!

Taya, That is an absolutely fabulous experience. I used to travel all the time. The major discomfort is one of the main reasons I have stayed away from it. I am so looking forward to seeing if this has improved for me as well. I get my chance in October. Thank you so much for sharing, and CONGRATULATIONS!
