DAD & OH EVENT UPDATE
Hi everyone!! Although I AM taking a break from posting for a while, I did want to update you on a couple of things.
First of all, Dad will hopefully be coming home today. After a myriad of tests, it's been determined that it was CHF (congestive heart failure). He needs to: stop smoking (again), watch his salt intake and watch his sugar (he's diabetic and at one point, his # was in the mid-400's!!!!). He feels better, looks better, isn't swollen, and his breathing is better. I can't say that I've been overly impressed with the nurses at Franklin Square Hospital, but I'm biased toward GBMC anyway. I guess it's a case of not enough and the ones that are there being overworked, but still, no excuses. So thank you all for your continued love, support and prayers. Now you can start saying prayers for Mom and me - he's gonna be a lot of fun to live with for a while!! LOL!!!
OH Events:
Picnic - Tabled for now. We will be looking into a "Welcome Spring" picnic, because a lot of the State parks were booked WELL into the fall. We will continue with our planning committee meetings, however, and again, all are welcome.
Girl's Day Out - Saturday, August 9 - 10:00 - Meet at the Starbucks at the Avenue at White Marsh for Darla's makeover at Ulta, then on to shopping, lunch, and whatever other trouble that finds us.
Cira's Luncheon - Sunday, August 17 - 1:00 - Timbuktu Restaurant, www.timbukturestaurant.com. Please RSVP to me by, I think I decided on Thursday, August 14. Bring cash, small bills - pay for your own and contribute toward Cira and Gino's lunches.
Aaron's Bday Celebration - Friday, August 22 - 7:00 - Frisco Family Pub, www.friscofamilypub.com.
That's pretty much all I can remember right now. I'll be lurking periodically and will answer any/all pm's and emails ASAP!!

Glad he's doing so well and glad you called me yesterday. We both know just how stubbon the dads can be! I'll be in the area tomorrow if you need anything! May go to movies if Dad is up to it....
BTW you forgot about the 5K in October!!! LOL Aaron has already signed up to do with me...as well as Kristen, Jen L. and a few others! I'll post the info again in a few days!

good news about your dad. i wish i could get my dad to take better care of himself, but he just refuses. i feel sorry for my mom a lot.

I am so glad that your Dad is going home. CHF is a very serious sickness and he really needs to lay off the salt, sugar & smoking. Hopefully he will make an effort.

I am praying and hoping for your Dad's recovery! I know what you mean about the nurses at GBMC, especially the ones in the ICU--they are fabulous and a rare find. I saw this when a close friend had his WLS by DVR and wasthen placed in ICU afterward due to mutiple med conditions. I hope the Franklin Sq ones are being nice and thorough in their care of your father.
Thanks for the events update. I am going to add these to my list I posted a few days ago so I can have them all in one place and not forget any. I am really forgetfult these days. I knew you would be back to be our "Julie McCoy Cruise Director of Entertainment " very soon but I needed a list before next weekend!
