Surgery date! And other news....

I had such a great week two weeks ago! I was approved for surgery and a date was set for 9/19/08. (I'm having Lapband, by the way). That was on a Monday. On Thursday I was told that I was getting a raise and a title change! Woo hoo!!

And then Friday....

I was terminated (along with 2 other co-workers) for my first offense of doing something wrong at my job. My happiness went down the toilet. I'm not a bad employee by the way, I just made an error that a lot of people make on a daily basis but don't get caught for. Thats not the point. I accept I made an error. Whatever.

However, I lose my health insurance now. What about my surgery??? I decided to go along and pay for the Cobra benefits at my job. All 500.00 of it each month until I get new insurance. I think it will be worth it in the end. I haven't worked this hard for something in my entire life. Wish me luck!

Now I get to be a stay at home for my son and I'm continuing my education to be an RN. Just say a few prayers and send some good vibes my way. I don't think it can get much worse, can it???

I am so sorry to hear about your troubles!!!! My heart goes out to you! Good for you that you are continuing your education to be an RN. Sorry to hear you lost your job! But it sounds like you are better off, if they fired you over 1 mistake.

Melissa, First off... I FIRMLY believe everything happens for a reason... that said... Congrats!  You now can have your surgery, and take the time to heal at your own pace.  Enjoy this time with your son.  And know that everyone here and i'm sure you have your own personal support group are all thinking and praying for you!  I look forward to seeing less of you real soon!

I am so sorry for everything that you are going through.  I also believe that everything happens for a reason.  Everything will work out for you.

Congratulations on your saurgery date. Continuing to get your RN is great!!  Enjoy your time with your son and know that at the long run everything wll be fine.

You have had a roller coaster ride this week.!!  up we go, down we go up we go down we go!  
I know it must be hard to process it all and wrap your mind around all that has happened.  Congratulations on getting approved for surgery and scheduled!  that is great news!!

and also for choosing to keep COBRA so you can get this surgery and move forward with your life as a healthier hapopier person. 
It sounds like it's really true that when a door closes a window opens, because now you can do what you REALLY want to do, be with your son and study for your RN.  Best of luck and stay in touch!

Wow that sure sounds crazy. I'm sorry to hear that you were let go. It sounds pretty weird that they would do that. normally you are given warnings. but you are almost to your surgery. dr. steele is awesome so you are in wonderful hands. good luck!
