REDUCED MEAL PRICES FOR WLS PATIENTS IN OC
Hey everyone!!
Having just come back from the beach, I thought I'd let you in on a couple of restaurants willing to charge wls patients an adjusted/reduced price. I've frequented all of these since October and haven't had to show my card, although I DID offer to show my scars if they seemed not to believe me - LOL!!!!!
Clarion Resort - Prime Rib & Crab Leg Buffet - Heather Modi and I went here in October and had a fabu time!! The food was awesome (as was the company!!), and I THINK they charged us less than $15, while the regular price is around $25.
Hooper's - Mom & I just had their AUCE Crab Feast on Friday - steamed crabs, shrimp, fried clams, hushpuppies, ribs and corn - normal price is $27.95 - they charged me $9.95.
Of course, I never get upset if they're not willing to adjust the price - after all, they never charged me more if I ate more!!

Thanks Tia for letting us know that! I live in Millsboro, De and am about 20 minutes from OC! I was not aware that Hoopers did that-great! I love crabs! I want to eat some before my surgery!!
My WLS group leader and I are trying to see if we can meet some of you ladies in person since I read where you met a couple of people in OC. If you go to OC often we would like to meet you sometime. I have made a post to see who would like to meet from over the bridge to us over here on this side of the bridge!

The view and the food at Hooper's was great. I know it sounds like a lot, but at 3 years post-op, I ate about 1.5 dozen crabs - over almost 3 hours!!!! I didn't bother with any of the other stuff - the only thing I would've eaten anyway was the corn, because the shrimp wasn't seasoned and I like my Old Bay!!
I also just drink water (yeah, I know, eating and drinking together is generally a no-no I adhere stringently to, but I can't with crab seasoning!). I don't bother with the beer that most people say they have to have with crabs, jus****er thanks!!!
I don't get to OC as much as I would like, but I'd love to come to a get-together if my schedule permits!!

Really? I had some family down there but most of them have passed away. Bob and Ruth Meekins were my Aunt and Uncle- have a cousin named Susan who is married to a guy named Carlton. I am 54 and went to Cambridge High School-graduated in 72. We lived on West Appleyby Street when I lived in Cambridge. My Uncle used to be a town cop-Charles (Warren) Todd. You know any of these people?? My Dad's name was Bennett Todd.
Yeah I love crabs-haven't had any this year. I would love to go to the Old Mill in Delmar but my husband doesn't eat crabs so I usually go with a girlfriend but haven't done it this year. Waterman's and Hoopers in OC are good too for crabs!

I have an Uncle and Cousins that live on East Appleyby. Crawford Abbott. My maiden name is Rippons. My daddy and all his family are from Hoopers Island. I didn't grow up here, but it is my home. I know many of the Todds and meekins. My cousins Karen and Carla Abbott went to Cambridge and probably graduated around 72. My grandmother used to work at the McCroys in town and my Aunt used to work at Tubman's jewlers. It's so funny how small this world really is.
