Good Morning All!

1 - I had a good day yesterday! No extra snacking in the evening (been a problem lately). I stayed on a liquid diet, following the 5DPT Mentioned by others on the board. Thanks for the idea!

2 - Discovering that I can wear 18" necklaces. I love jewelry. So often when I have bought pendants, they come on an 18" chain. I have always transfered these to longer chains because I could not wear the 18" chains. I always avoided any other type of necklace that was 18" too. They were too tight. Well, I am not sure when it happened, but I tried one of the old 18" chains yesterday and was surprised to discover that it fits me fine and the pendant hangs perfectly. It is not too tight at all! Wow! Now I can't wait to play in my jewelry box and see what all I have that I have never worn (i.e. gifts that used to be too small, etc.) It feels like Christmas!

3 - It's Friday! It's FRIDAY! IT"S FRIDAY! IT'S FRIDAY! YAHOO!

Heather,

Thanks!  My goal was to lose 50 pounds 8 weeks after surgery.  I am 8 weeks out now and just got weighed and I have only  lost a total of 46 pounds.  I guess that isn't bad considering I have not been able to go walking or go to the gym because of my Orthostatic Hypotension.  The pills they gave me help some with the dizziness upon standing and walking so the doctor told me to go ahead to the gym and start doing what I can in the way of excercise.  Next week I have two month update with my WLS so I will see how that goes.  I don't get on the scale on a regular basis because I know the scale will then control me and I have  enough problem controlling myself!

That's WONDERFUL!!!! Always remember this.....it's never 'only'. That is 46 pounds gone forever! You have done an awesome job and the best is yet to come! Keep up the good work! Good idea on not getting on the scale. It's way too easy to get addicted to that and obsess about it. You are on the right track!

Teri, HeyI  If you lose 46 pounds each 8 weeks, you would have lost 200 pounds by 8 mos so that would be great in my book!  WAY TO GO WOMAN!  I'm with you on not obsessing about the scale.  Keep us posted!

Okay, I am grateful for:

1.  The fact that I am getting healthier every day and that I actually look forward to going to the gym (I guess that's really two but who cares!)

2.  For my new friend who lives in Canada who I met online.  He is becoming a really good support person for me and seems to accept me for who I am.

3.  That I get to spend time with my 13 year neice this weekend....another strong support person for me....she's been my biggest cheerleader thru this journey so far!

I'll go with ....

1)  It's FRIDAY !!!   I know that seems to be everyone's choice today too

2) Looking forward to the weekend.   We have a HUGE parade (or at least it used to be huge) in Baltimore early Sunday a.m. with the fire truck.   I'm thankful that I can enjoy the truck and scramble in and out (or up and down) without it being such a chore.   5 years ago that would not even have been an option ... would have needed a crane to get me in and out of the truck.    Mr Mo has a friend who wants to ride in the fire truck for the parade so I think I'll just walk the parade route and meet them at the Convention Center at the end.

3) Life in general .. see #2 .. I have so much that I can do and enjoy and I'm happy and satisfied with what I have

Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!
