WEDNESDAY EXERCISE

Yahoooooo!!!  The heatwave appears to finally be over.  I don't know about you, but I'm not going to miss pealing my shirt off my sweaty back every two minutes.  That heat and humidity was just ridiculious.  I welcome 85 degrees with some showers today with open arms.

Yesterday was a very light day on the exercise thread, which concerns me a little considering it  was only Tuesday.  If you took the day off due to the heat, today is a MUST.  No reason to take back to back days off.  The heat's not an excuse today, my friends.  It's the middle of the week and you're going to have to make that committment to yourself to finish up the week on a strong note.  Remember, you're only cheating yourself.  Yes, I care about each and every one of you.  But, in the end, if you decide to ditch your exercise plan it's only hurting you.  If you want to consider this your daily kick in the rearend, go ahead.  Some people need it.

Today, I'm going to mix things up a bit and hit the treadmill.  Last night was the first time in a while that I used a treadmill, and I wound up adding 5 miles on it besides the 6 miles I ran yesterday.  It felt so good I'm going to attempt the same thing today.  I plan on joining you all for the 5K on October 5th and then my half marathon is one week later in Baltimore.  Time to step it up a couple notches.

What do you all have on the agenda today?

Hey Nicole,
I am so glad that you have been working it.  You should be commended and I'm sure you're feeling healthier every day.  Sometimes you do need to take a break to let your body heal, so to speak.  How's about this for an idea?  Instead of pushing yourself, how about a nice easy 30 minute walk?  Do you feel up to that?  It does two things.  One, it does allow your body to recover a little since you won't be pushing it quite as hard as it has become accustomed to being pushed.  Secondly, it allows you to continue on some sort of exercise regimen.  You won't struggle as much when you get back to it full steam tomorrow.  Just a thought.  Keep up the great work Nicole, you're doing fantastic.

Wednesday is usually one of my "hit the gym" days but I am out of town and can't get there.  But, do not dispair!  I have a copy of the Weigh2win DVD and I brought along my DVD player!  will do that work out in the motel room  tonight.  I also plan on a bit of walking rather it be at the Mall or walmart since they are predicting really bad T-storms here today.  I am religiously getting to the gym since I have a goal set for the amount of pounds I want to lose before my October appointment.  I've been doing a steady job with the losing since I have now been able to get in my protein and excercise.  Thanks Andy for the motivation here!  Deb

Hey Andy!
Walking tonight with Kelly so long as the rain is light. If not then hitting my gym on the way home....mix up the machines and maybe swim. Will do that tomorrow as well. Knee is feeling much better so working on the jog/walk and building slowly. Glad you decided to join the 5K in October. It's going to be great!!!!

Went to the gym - did 50 minutes on the bike.  Did about 10 minutes of core stuff too.  Went to the O's game - parked in Federal Hill and walked to game - WHICH MEANS WE THEN HAD TO JOB/WALK FAST BACK TO THE CAR IN THAT STORM!  It was thundering and lightening all around us - holy crap it was frightening.  Ethan was such a little man.  Drivng up 83 was quite stressful!
Nicole, I take a day off every week to regroup.  It means not going to the gym or doing a big ride but I still might bike to the pool or something.  I like a little break....
