I'm an idiot

Yes, I really am.  I can't deny it any longer.

Because I keep a careful on-line log of my food intake, I can easily see my protein intake, calories, etc.  Because I realized that I was a little low on protein for the time of day, I decided to eat a protein bar.  I take the bar, cut it in to tiny slices, and then half those slices so that each bite is really tiny and easy to chew and swallow.  I start eating away.

All of a sudden, my tummy feels like it is going to explode.  I get the weirdest sensation....my head hurts....I get a warm sensation like I'm going to yack up my protein bar.....I become totally focused on my upset tummy.

Then I realize that I had eaten half of the protein bar.  I was trying to force too much food into my pouch at one time.

I had totally forgotten about my portion limit, and I was eating away like I used to in the old days (ummmmm..., like two months ago), without any regard for what I was eating or how much I was eating.

It takes a long time to have my head catch up to my new smaller tummy.

Hi Tracey,

Sorry you got sick....
It all depends it could have been you ate it to fast.... or a piece got stuck if it was the dry protein bars. Also what is the sugar content? Since you are early out having more than 5 grams of sugar at a time can get you sick.

When I was early out the protein bars I did great with was the Atkins endulge protein bars they were smooth and easy to swallow.

1/2 of a bar can be too much when you are early out.  I remember this early out if I was not careful I would get that stuck feeling then get the foamies and up came the offensive food.

Take care

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Tracey,

Oh boy did your pouch let you know who's boss didn't it? LOL Sorry that happened but it does help us to remember and like you said...the head is the last part to catch up to the smaller tummy! I still remember the first time I got sick from not remembering about the smaller pouch and it was a doozy! Just a suggestion, maybe when you cut the bar into smaller slices you could have put 3/4 of the bar back away, eaten the other 1/4 then waited to see if you were hungry for more later. We do find different ways to do stuff that work...a lot is experimentation and then of course trial and error too! Good luck!

I think everybody goes through that at least a million times before they get it right.
