Update
Yesterday I went to see Dr. Moein first thing. He said he wanted me there without an appointment first thing Monday morning.
I met with him and he examined me and we talked about everything. I told him I was having a lot of numbness from my abdomen down to my knees and thought it was from surgery. He said it was most likely vitamin deficiency. So he gave me a B12 shot and an Rx for them to take at home.
He gave me an Rx for liquid Roxicet. The hospital gave me liquid morphine, but he said it is too hard on the stomach, plus it was making me delusional and unable to sleep.
He has me scheduled to come back in 2 weeks for a check-in, then in a month for an endoscopy to make sure that the surgery is healing properly and that I don't have any narrowing. I'm on liquids until the endoscopy, and limited purees.
I got a lecture about not taking the Prevacid and how I need to listen, which I am more than aware of now.
I also told him about how I am disgusted by food/water now and can barely get any water/meds in, let alone protein. He said I seem to be doing ok (not dehydrated) for now, but if I can't start doing better, they'll have to admit me for IV feeding.
Then he had Kate the NP come in. She gave me a pep talk and suggested that I get a sippy cup and try to drink protein in that so I don't smell it.
Then Casey the nut came in and she gave me some protein samples that she thought would be easier for me to get down (Isopure, Unjury and Nectar). I told her how water tastes nasty to me now (and I used to LOVE water) and she said it happens to some people after surgery but it should go back to normal.
I ended up being there for almost 3 hours and was freaking exhausted when I got home.
Unfortunately my lack of nutrition/protein/vitamins is taking a huge toll on me. My legs don't work right, I can't really support myself when walking up steps. They are still numb.
My ILs come over every day to "babysit" me and my MIL kicks my ass as far as eating/drinking, which is sort of what I need.
Today, I am super proud of myself because I've had (so far) 1/2 a yogurt, a few spoons of babyfood to get my Prevacid down, a little water and a little SF Kool Aid. I've also taken my Synthroid pill and half my Paxil. This is a huge improvement, especially the yogurt. That was a new addition today.
Unfortunately I threw up last night because my H was shooting the pain meds in my mouth with a dropper and they hit the back of my throat and made me gag (get your minds out of the gutter!) which then sent me on a vomiting spree. Of course, all I threw up was the pain meds and water. But it hurt my incision so bad. So I didn't sleep well last night since I didn't get much if any pain meds.
I also got out of bed by myself today. It hurt, but I did it. I'll still get help from my H if he is around just to avoid the pain for now. But I was so tired I didn't want to get up when he left for work.
Now if only I could get comfy when sitting/laying I'd be a lot happier. My butt and lower back hurt so bad. I'd kill to be able to just lay on my stomach (I'm a stomach/side sleeper). Sleeping on my back has been very difficult. I try it on the side, but my stomach pulls and it hurts, so I can only do it for short periods of time.
Anyway, I'm getting better....very slowly. Now I just need to keep up with trying to drink.

I'm glad to hear that Dr. Moein is being responsive to your needs. That is how I would expect him to be all the time. Hopefully, the B12 will jump start some energy for you, and kick up the healing a notch.
The sippy cup idea with the protein shakes isn't bad, since you definitely need to get some nutrition. I don't know what kind of shakes you have tried, but I like Atkins and EAS. The EAS shakes are a milder taste, and a bit lighter consistency, which might be better for you.
I hope you continue to see improvement. Please know I'm thinking about you every day, and hoping and praying you are on the mend.

Sending you lots of hugs, prayers and good thoughts. I am glad that you got to see Dr. M today and that he gave you the B12 and other stuff. You are getting there slowly but surely. There are ups and downs and I know you have had more downs than ups but hopefully now you are on the upswing and the ups will outnumber anything else. I'm almost two years out and still cannot stomach plain water. I always carry the single serve SF flavors with me where ever I go. Keep up the good work and day by day it will get easier and you will be able to add other things to your diet. I'm sure the yogurt was very welcome!!!! Hang in there!
On July 11 I had a perforation in my stomach (3 months after surgery) and had to go to the ER and have emergency, exploratory OPEN
surgery. I was in ICU for 2 days and then the regular area for 3. The hospital I went to was NOT equiped to handle a bariatric patient and didn't understand the surgery. I'm having a really hard time recovering this time as opposed to my first surgery.
I have very little appetite and don't want to drink.
If you want to know more, just look back a few days and there are posts explaining it all.

I'm glad Dr Mo and his staff are being responsive now to your needs.
Last week I was so upset about what you were going thru.
Please take care of yourself and listen to Dr Mo - I know its hard
to eat / drink when you don't want too but you need to get your strength back
and thats the only way that will happen: I am sure you don't want another hospital
stay.
Prayers and hugs headed your way

Hi Sweetbea,
I'm glad to hear you saw Dr. Moein and he was thorough in assessing your situation. I agree, that sippy cup idea is a great idea. I am going to try that. I hear isopure tatses bad. I have tried Unjury and other than the straberry one they taste good, less after taste that the others. Sip sip sip. You can put clear unjury in your crystal light(w/nutrasweet) or your 4C drink mix(w/splenda) too! Take care of you! Hugs,
