How offended should I be??

How old is this idiot?  I ask this only because I remember when I was morbidly obese, kids would often make "fat" comments without regard to my feelings.  Hell, my kids were the worst offenders.  They just didn't know better.  Also, older people tend to not give two rats asses about what they say.  Hell, my ex-grandfather in law once told me "Damn Andy, you're getting fatter every time I see you".  They just don't care.

Your co-worker doesn't deserve the time of day from you.  Since she was ignorant enough to make such an assinine comment, she's probably too ignorant to realize how stupid her comment was.  Therefore, an apology probably hasn't entered her thought process.  If you want to maintain her friendship, that is totally up to you.  If it were me, she'd have some serious explaining to do.

By the way, we've never met, but from what I can see, you look perfectly fine to me.

Okay, well first of all she is just a couple of years younger than I am.  I have just recently found out that she made the comment because after she lost some weight she has been very dissatisfied with her body.  So, she figures since I have lost so much I must be feeling that way times 10.  I told her for the most part I am happy with the way things have turned out.  Would I love a flat belly an for everything else to be perfect?  Maybe.  But, I am a realist and I NEVER had that body at any age.  So, unless it is store bought it's not going to happen.

I am truly happier with myself and body than ever before.  Feeling pretty good for 40!!
