I DID IT!!!!!!
Pam, yeah, my kids knew I had the surgery and lost 80 lbs but they haven't seen me in a year. They are happy for me. I know I said my knee hurt a little this morning but now as the day has gone on, they hurt like crazy...lol...the right one is bad anyway...oh well...will take a muscle relaxant later and hit the bed. Still feel good that I was able to do the light house...the view is amazing..
Congrats on this wonderful accomplishment, and I'm so glad you got to have that fun with your kids. Enjoy your visit, and definitely the trip to the ocean!
One of the things I thought about recently was some of the things I'd like to do again, now that I have some stamina. Things I did as a morbidly obese person, that I couldn't enjoy fully because I was too exhausted from the trek. Lighthouse climbing was definitely one of them! The bell tower at Notre Dame was another, the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty (unfortunately since 9/11 won't get the chance to try again). I'd love to climb those steps again, and have the energy to enjoy it!!
