THE SCALE MOVED!
I was getting on the scale EVERY other day and making myself NUTS!  I did not get on the scale for 9 days and that is a lot for me.  I took it out once and put it right back.  So I got on this morning and it finally moved after two and a half weeks. I have lost another 3 pounds.  Now if I can just put the scale away for another 9 days.
My NUT gave me a pep talk the other day about needing to eat, So I getting more food in and I think that has helped.
Thanks for all of your support.
Hugs Kristen

I know I have shared this in the past but Nancy is just wonderful and I thought the remind might help us all again.
This was a e-mail from Nancy:

Make sure you increase your protein to stay full.
Water load in-between meals increase exercise time
and duration and switch up the type of exercise you
do this will shock your system and get the weight
moving again. Keeping a food log usually helps keep
patients on track when they start to get off track.
Let your self have the 2 starches a day just make them
low fat good choices like baked lays or torttia chips.
This is when the psych part really begins so a lot of
it is plain will power. If you feel really tempted
remove yourself from the situation and talk yourself
out of it. Keep a list of all the reasons you don't want
to go back and make yourself read it before you eat
the thing you don't want to eat. Rally friends and
family around you to support and help you abstain.
Come in and see me if you really start to have issues with this.

Congrats on the scale moving!!   Thanks for sharing the e-mail that is alot of good information!!!  One thing I promised myself throughout all this is that I was not going to let the scale rule my head.  In the past when I went on diets I was compulsive about getting on the scale all the time and that  darn thing use to control my every mood!! it was awful.  I know how disappointed I can get if the scale does not tell me what I think it should and the way I think no matter what it would not.   As you can see my weight loss on my ticker is from June 28th, I have not got on the scale siince then,I don't  even have one in my house!!  My focus is on eating right, trying to get all the fluid and all the nasty protien! I am going to the Doctors this week and get weighed, I know I have lost, but I am trying to keep my expectations down, because if I don't it will affect my mood.  I figure this way, with this new tool I have for the rest of my life now, I will never be able to binge eat the way I use to, and will eventually lose and I am sure  it will continue to be a struggle but with the support of all of you I know I can do it  and so can you!!!  Good luck, you are doing great !!!

Hugs to you,
Terri

Hey Kristen,

That scale can be your best friend or worst enemy.  It definitely provides for an emotional rollercoaster.  I know it's easy to say put it away and stop weighing yourself so much, but, lets face it, we went through this surgery to see results and see them fast!!!  Unfortunately, it can become counterproductive.  Believe me honey, you are in the majority.  I'm not going to lie, I was a scale junkie for the longest time.  Finally, when I realized I was doing all I was told to and that the tool was working, I just went with the flow.  I realized there would be weeks that I lost a ton of weight, others where I wouldn't drop a single ounce.  It consumed me and I didn't like it.  I finally made an aggreement with myself to weigh myself only once a week.  Three pounds in nine days is a nice weight loss.  I don't know you that well yet, but you seem to be determined to make this work for you.  Trust it, you'll be just fine.  CONGRATULATIONS on the scale moving, you should be very proud of yourself.

Great news on getting the scale to budge.

I'll have to take to really thoroughly read your Nut's suggestions.  I am getting a little frustrated at my own weight loss...or lack thereof.  I, too, get on the scale too often, and I've become obsessed with it NOT moving in the last few days.  It's frustrating.  I am out just short of six weeks, and I feel as if I've lost very little weight in that time.

Like I said, good on you for your accomplishment.  And I WILL implement your Nut's recommendations, as well as my own Nut's guidelines.  This weight bettter come off, dammit.
