Choosing a Surgeon
Myself personally no but there are plenty on this board whom have.
Maybe you should attend both of their free seminars to see whom your more comfortable with. That is what I did and why I chose whom I chose. That and he has been a world respected trauma surgeon. He has done about 900 of the RNYs with no deaths and very few complications. But even with all that I still get COLD FEET!
Good luck with your search!!!

not everyone agrees on the different types of advice, but i steered clear of programs that had mandatory six month waits. it wasn't an requirement of my insurance company so i didn't feel like i should have to do that. as long as a surgeon is part of a center of excellence, then their statistics are available. you need to consider everything that means a lot to you.
I am obviously a little biased as I am a patient of Dr. Schweitzer. My suggestion would be to first decide on a surgery type you are interested in. Check them all out (RNY, DS, lap band, VSG) on the boards & on-line.
Dr. S has an excellent reputation and I believe you would be in good hands.
It was a good idea to go to the intro sessions. Oh and I would suggest making sure they are both under your insurance. That will be key.
