Three things for Saturday

Hey everyone:  I know we don't usually post on saturdays but I am so
very Thankful today I thought maybe I would make an exception.

!.  That I went to my first concert in years last night -  It was hot but
this time last year I could never have walked from the garage to the
concert venue without sitting down a couple times.

2.  That I can get enjoyment out of watching people who obviously
enjoy what they do for a living.  Steve Azars drummer was just having
so much fun-  It was a joy to watch.

3.  That today I will get in at least two hours at the gym before going to
my best friends fathers 80th birthday party.

4.  For friends who understand when you have to break plans because
something like # 3 came up at the last minute.  Thanks Deb for
understanding.

5.  That just over a year ago my weekends consisted of laying around the house
because I had no energy to do anything else-  This year my weekends are
filled with new friends and new things to do and see that I could not do
last year.

So my Maryland board buddies :

WHAT ARE YOU THANKFUL FOR TODAY????

Im thankful for:

1. The man who makes my heart skip a beat everytime he kisses me

2. The internet- My long lost high school best friend found me via Myspace..I have been searching for her for over 10 years and have come up empty handed each time...She has been living over in England for the past 6 years and will be coming back to Maryland soon...

3. My lack of sanity...becausee if I was sane, I wouldnt be able to cope with the people I work with.

What grea responses so far this morning.  It looks like there is a lot of gratitude going on in this thread.  Good on ya'll.

I am thankful this morning for:

(1)  the peace and quiet that is in my house.  My husband is still asleep (he went to the Orieoles game last night with his kids and didn't get home until after 1:00).  My son is in his room watching his most favorite SpongeBobSquarepants dvd.  The dogs have already been outside and fed, and are now napping at my feet.

(2)  The major yardword for the weekend is already done.  Mowing two acres of grass is time consuming, and my husband mowed it yesterday.  This means that we now have more time to play today!  Pool.  Maybe a bike ride.  Going shopping, etc.

(3)  My sister returns today from her 3-week vacation to Alaska.  I'm really tight with my family, so I missed her a LOT.  Hope she has some good photos to share with us.

(4)  Strangely, I'm not frustrrated with my current weight loss slump.  I haven't lost anything in the past four days, but I'm ok with that.  For now.  I hope to get on the weight-loss band-wagon again soon.

Have a good day, everyone!

i'm feeling very peaceful this morning so this thread has drawn me in.  i'm thankful for:

1.  being only four days post-op and feeling pretty darned good.  the air has begun to leave my body and i'm walking erect for the first time in 36 hours.  the soreness is minimal and i feel more spry today.  i even managed to clean up around the house a little.

2.  my girls were able to go to nyc today to see the little mermaid on broadway in spite of my having surgery.  i was sad when i learned that my surgery would prevent me from taking them, but didn't want to refuse the date because it aligned so well with work and other more important things in life. a family friend stepped in for me and they all three made the bus on time this morning and are enroute to the big city now.  i just know they will have a fabulous day.

3.  just this general lack of stress that i'm feeling.  my job is typically very stressful and i have someone managed to pu**** almost completely out of my mind.  i'm very self-focused right now.. something that is new to me.  i'm feeling really good about it too.

It's nice to hear that your recovery is going so nicely.  Before long you'll be back to feeling completely normal, and enjoying your new healthy body.

It took me about 3 1/2 weeks to feel normal.  Whatever that is.  :)

Glad you had a great time at the concert. I am so proud of you and your achievements. Have a wonderful weekend Miss Social Butterfly!

Love ya girl!

Today I am thankful for:

1. This beautiful and hot sunny day.

2. My husband for helping around the house even though he has a 20 page Thesis to get done for his last semester.

3. My 2 older kids are feeling a little better and I haven't had to take gia to the ER Thank goodness. She is still having a rough time with the cold and fever but we are managing it pretty good.

Have a wonderful day,

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

I am still at #5 status, so I frequently am also at #4 status, but I am thankful for:

The internet so I can talk with you all.

You all.  It is great to have friends here at OH.

Air conditioning since the news says to stay in from the 100+degree weather with code red poor air quality.

I'm glad you enjoyed the concert!
