okay, i know i'm probably still under the influence of some of the drugs and such, but i have to tell you have wonderful my dog has been.  she's a three-year old schnoodle (half schnauzer and half poodle).  although she weighs about 20 pounds, she thinks she's a little puppy still.  we simply adore each other and she is always by my side when i am home.  that also means, she's using laying on me in some sort of way.  she also jumps on me when i get home everyday because she's so excited i am home.  it's a bad habit that we need to break, but she's such a good dog otherwise.

in any event, i was worried about coming home from the hospital and having sammi hurt me without meaning to do so.  i worried about her jumping on me or trying to lay on me.  i especially worried about her jumping onto my lap while i was on the couch.  however, it's been very strange since i got home.  it's almost as though she knows i had surgery and she cannot do these things.  she has been content to just curl up next to me rather than climb into my lap.  she hasn't jumped inappropriately even once.  i will continue to stay guarded but i just think it's great that she seems to know that i'm recovering and she has to be extra good to me.

thanks for letting me rant about my baby.

Very sweet! I'm a pet person. I talk to my cat like she's a person, lol. Sammi is responding to your body language, which to me speaks volumes of the close relationship that you have with her. Kudos to you for treating your pet like one of the family, like she should be.

Hope you're feeling great!!!
Hugs!

she is just so sweet.  she looks at me with these sad eyes almost like she's asking me if i'm okay.  she also keeps licking my leg.. something she never does.  my husband said that i may smell medicimal and she's trying to lick my wounds.  who knows.  i just love her.  thanks for endulging me.  pets really are wonderful.

kathy, i try to talk to my cat too, but he just looks at me with a "are you done yet?" and moves on.  he takes after my husband's side of the family.   LOL

Pam, my terriers always knew when I wasn't feeling well and would behave better than normal. They can be so kind, gentle, and sweet to the people they love! Then again, around other dogs they were all terrier. I would imagine the poodle in her holds back a lot of the terrier traits. Your lucky to have her! Penny

Awwww that is so sweet. Your pets can sense that something is not just right.

Give her a pat for me.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

We love our pets and they love us back ten-fold.  Give Sammi a puppy-hug from me!

For the most part, pets can sense when things aren't right.  My husband had a minor surgery today and they've been giving him wide berth.  They are attached to me the most and always need to be touching me.  There are 5 of them, and they are boxers, so as you can imagine it can be quite interesting.  LOL!  We'll see how it goes when I have mine.  I'm not worried about my older dogs at all, it's the puppy.  He hasn't developed a whole lot of manners yet.

Yay for Sammi!

Pam, it is good to see you back on, how are you doing.  I know what you mean about our pets, I lost my Murfee a year and a half ago and I still want to cry when I think about him.  He was 13 years old.  During the last two years of his life and as I was retired, we were together 24/7.  I did not get another doggie yet, still not over the MurfMan as we sometimes called him.  But we have a doggie that we watch on occasion and we get our fix when Ginger comes for a visit (She is my H's sister's dog).  As I said, so glad to see you have made it pass the surgery portion and are at home.
