Has anyone gotten an update on Leigh's progress? As I'm sure all of you do, I continue to hope for a quick recovery for her, and that her problem is resolved now.
I've thought a lot about her this past week. I'm also a patient of Dr. Moeinomolki, and until hearing from her about all of her problems, and especially about her struggle to get into contact with him, I was one of his biggest fans. I don't have a problem with her having a complication. I wouldn't wish one on anyone, but I certainly know that complications can and do occur on occassion. As long as you have a skilled and caring surgeon they are almost always fixable. My serious problem is with the lack of response and apparent lack of caring. What could have possibly been resolved, and should most definitely been addressed weeks ago has dragged on, and could have turned into something far more serious.
I wonder what GBMC has done to alleviate some of the excess workload on Dr. Moein since he has been practicing alone? I wonder if they truly are committed to bariatrics?
I still feel that I made a good choice, because thankfully my care has been stellar, my recovery swift, and my successes many. However, I am concerned that should I ever need more than routine care from Dr. Moein that he won't be able to be there for me, and that is a scary thought.

Awww have you not heard from her? I am not sure who that is but I do hope you hear from her soon. Do you have any contact info for her? (((hugs)))
I have never heard of your surgeon so I cant really comment but I know you should never feel like you are just another number. If his workload is too big his stress will be immense and that opens anyone up for mistakes and complications. Bets of luck to you and your friend honey.

Kathy I asked last night at the meeting ( quietly of course) if the leader
knew how she was: she had not heard of anyone with a problem and at the time all I could
remember was her screenname. They did mention another Dr. coming to join the practice
next month: some of that Dr's patients were at the meeting last night; so help is on the way
for Dr. Mo.

Hi Kathy,
I haven't heard anything either. I hope her husband update's us soon. I pray she is recovering nicely.
I totally understand your fears and I pray Dr. Moein gets help and can care for his patients better. He was always very attentive to me when I had my surgery and complications when I was in the hospital. So hearing all this was quite shocking.
I hope everything changes soon.
I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
Those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind.

I do know that Peter Liao the bariatric surgeon from Union Memorial is planning to going over to join Dr. Moein, as Union Memorial is no longer going to have a bariatric program. Hopefully that wil help. I agree with you that this is disturbing. I too have a friend who had his surgery 12/4/07 and he was set up to see Dr. Moein after DVR left, but the office staff kept rescheduling him and did so 3-4 times for his follow up appts and he has gotten fed up with them and has not been in for quite some time and decided to have his PCP continue with follow up. I am so glad for you that your experience has been a good one Kathy.
Take care,
Take care,
HI Kathy,
I know, you're so right! I've been a lame-o about posting. I've still lurked, though, and have felt so frustrated waiting for my approval so sometimes it's hard to see everyone else going forward. Not jealous, just envious and very happy to see others succeeding, hoping to do the same eventually.
I just posted a thread and talked about my recent receipt of letter from Aetna. They finally after 4 weeks acknowledged receiving my preauth request paperwork. I'm relieved about that.
How are things with you? You are really cookin' with your weight loss, kathy! wow! Stay in touch!

Hi Jen! Good to see you out of lurk mode. Yeah my weight loss was cookin, now it's barely warming, lol. I'm stalled, but not worried... yet. I think I'm still losing inches, and I'm not gaining weight. But, I haven't been exercising much and I'm feeling the difference. Work sucks, and it's taking all of my energy just to get up and go in most days. But, hopefully soon that will be over, for better or for worse.
I'm THRILLED to hear that Aetna finally sent you their letter. Even at a snails pace, things moving forward are always a good sign. Definitely keep in touch!!

Thanks Kathy you are so sweet. I am glad to hear from you too. Yep, I know lack of exercise has a huge effect on energy...mine too! I have not much mobility other than seated exercise or very brief walks so I too have trouble getting energy to wake up in the morning for work. I feel ya. Talk to you soon! Hugs,
