congrats on your approval!! How long did it take from the time they sent in the request to Aetna? Mine took an f-ing month before Aetna even acknowledged today that they received it. Best of luck in the preop testing if any and let us know when you set the date!

Well, lets see...the paperwork was faxed to them the first week in June and a call from Dr. S' office to open a case. One week later they said they had no case and no paperwork. Got the case opened finally on 6/19. It took going back between them and Dr. S' office until last Tuesday for them to acknowledge that they had all the paperwork. They definitely don't make it easy!

OMG you and I had the exact same issue at the exact same time too. My letter was dated the 14th Tuesday also! Hey, you! Get in line! I have been waiting longer by like 3 days, and you got your approval before me. No fair! LOL Just kidding. Maybe we will both get our surgeries at the same time too! Here's hoping for my approval ASAP.

Great news! You'll hear from the office soon to schedule. All of the pre-op testing I was required to have (blood work, EKG, chest x-ray, pre-surgery physical) had to be completed within 30 days of surgery so you wouldn't have been able to do them before now anyways. Oh and you will need to go to the hospital for a pre-admissions check-in. Basically paperwork and a discussion of what will happen that day. I was stressed about getting everything done but it worked out.

congratulations. it all goes very fast from here. it seemed to take so long to get that approval, but i barely remember the time between approval and coming home from the hospital yesterday. it flew by.

Congratulations on the aproval. I am in the process of trying to get aproved for the lapband system. When i checked the website for my health insurance it stated that Bariatrc surgery is inapplicable. I have arthritis from the waist down, hypertension, depression, and the inabilty to work out very much due to sever arthritis in both knees. I am going to apply and see if with these co morbities they will aprove it.
