Been up in Philly for the past few days, called Aetna on the way home yesterday and found out I'm APPROVED!! Immediately called the surgeon's office thinking we could schedule a date right then and there...nope! Have to wait for the Nurse Case Manager at the surgeon's office to review my file, determine what pre-op tests will be needed and then we go from there. Grrr...I asked them months ago if there would be any pre-op testing so that I could get started on them.

Silver lining (and there always is one) is that I'm approved!! YAY!

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished. Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago. I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits! Wherever you are in your journey ... It's ALL good!!!

Hey Heather!!! Well Congratulations...I know your jumping for joy right now. Don't worry about the the Pre-Op. I got alot of mine done within a two week time frame, but I was off work alot. You never know, your surgeon might not require alot. I feel like my surgeon asked for every test that was available...lol Well good luck to ya and I'm sure you will get a date before you know it!

hi lillyh, glad to hear you got approved. we are neighbors, im on kent island. dr. kimberly steele is my surgeon. i thought i was done with seeing all the docs but she wanted me to see 2 more. i was at bayview today. now i got one more doc to see. good luck with your journey. sweetheart59

Lily, congrats on your approval. That was the major hurdle for me. Although my surgeons office had me do all the testing before they would submit for approval. The insurance approval process was almost as long as my supervised weight loss period, lol. From approval to surgery for me was only a brief physical, EKG and bloodwork which my PCP did quickly and easily. Hopefully that's all you'll need to do too. I'm hoping for a quick date for you, and continued success!!
