Hi Everyone.....Sorry this is late

When someone is dying do you let them knowit is ok to let go or do you encourage them to keep fighting for selfish reasons when you can see it in their face that they are tired...I know depressing.......but still I wonder

If they are suffering tremendously then I would say it is ok but if there is any chance of them gaining back a livable life, then I would say fight for it. I know if I was on life support or if I knew I was terminal then I wouldn't want to be kept alive and let me go naturally.

Well, I've been with several people when they died, and I knew for them, it would be a great relief as they were in pain and had no quality of life, and death, while causing me pain, would release them from misery.

When I had to have Molly the Beagle put down, it was horrible for me - I truly wanted it to be my ex-husband lying on the vet's floor - but it was the best thing for her because she was suffering and in pain.

So, human or not, it IS an unselfish thing to let them go, but it still makes it feel like your heart's being ripped out.

I'm afraid to ask - what brought this on?

Grandfather has taken turn for worst and is going in for another bypass and they are not sure he will make it

awww Jen *HUGE BEAR HUGS* you and your grandfather are in my thoughts and prayers! My dad had a quadruple bypass about 20 years ago and I know exactly what you're going through. the wait is terrible.

Thanks Man,  Grandpa is 90 and it is touch and go...hopefully he will pull through
