breakfast
Hi there! I'm in my 10th week as well and I'm still eating oatmeal LOL Sometimes on the weekends I'll have scrambled eggs and bacon (i use vegetarian bacon from MorningStar Farms). I haven't tried whole wheat bread yet. I don't think I'm ready for it. However, I'm there with you.....it's pretty boring. I'm sure Tia will have some suggestions for us. Like putting salsa on your eggs or greek yogurt on granola and berries or something like that. keep watching the feed bag thread. Maybe you can get some ideas from there.
Hi there!
Welcome to the Maryland Board - the ONLY OH Board in my opinion!!! LOL!!!
I assume you're on solid foods - so the sky's the limit. No one said you HAVE to eat only breakfast foods for breakfast - IMHO, whatever you can tolerate can be breakfast, lunch or dinner. Just make sure you get your protein in first and foremost, and follow whatever directives your surgeon has outlined.
I do: protein bars, shakes, yogurt (Greek yogurt, which is thicker with more protein) with fruit and l/s granola, eggs, lunchmeat, cheese - really NOTHING is off limits. The more variety you incorporate and the more creative you get, you'll find that you're not just limited to shakes and bars for the rest of your life.
Take a look at The Feed Bag post, too, there's always good ideas there.
Hope this helps,
Tia

I agree with the suggestions already posted. For me, breakfast needs to be convenient, and quick. While I prefer a frozen protein shake for breakfast most often (I sometimes blend in frozen fruit), I also like cottage cheese, high fiber, high protein cereal w/skim milk, or a protein bar. On the weekends, I experiment a little more since I have more time. Everyone has different tastes and tolerances. So you really will need to experiment from time to time to see what works best for you. Enjoy! Debbie
