Headache - Which meds are appropriate?

I can't find it in all of my surgeons' notes and paperwork, but what kind of pain meds are appropriate for a headache?

I have been suffering from a headache all dang afternoon.

In case it matters, I had RNY.

Thanks!

I believe the only pain reliever you can take is tylenol.  Stay away from anything that will irritate your stomach like NSAIDS.

Tylenol is the only recommended one I know of.  Aaron is right about the pain relievers to stay away from.

Thanks, Aaron and Teri!

Much appreciated.  I know my head will appreciate it, too.

I remember being fresh our of surgery - still in the hospital - and taking Tylenol pills for my caffeine withdrawal.  (I was a Diet Coke *****).

Maybe I'll split the pill in half and take one now and the second part at bedtime.

I am only 10 months out and still take the liquid childrens motrin, two little cups. BUT I did take some Tylenol (pills) last week for a hang over and it worked pretty good.  First hang over in 13 years I might add.
