Wow, what a great group!!! I'm not real familar with what county around here is near another, but I do appreciate the good luck wishes on my job hunt. For those of you that have connections, here is the long and short of my work history. I have worked in a sports department as a sports writer, managed a Domino's Pizza, worked in a papermill for 10 years before it went out of business, was a manager of tire sales at a Bridgestone/Firestone store, ran a slitting machine for 5 years in a manufacturing plant, done some heating/ventilation and air conditioning as an apprentice for my cousin's company and, on as a part time job, worked as a bouncer for 10 years at a club in Coatesville, PA. Right now, actually, a part-time job as a bouncer would be ideal at least for a couple months as it wouldn't affect my unemployment benefits and it would maximize my earnings to get ahead of things while I make my transition. But, if something full time came along, obviously that would work too. So, if any of you fine people have any connections in the Cecil County area, please don't hesitate to let me know. Thanks again for the warm welcome and concerns. Take care.

Welcome to Maryland Andy! I did the same thing about 7 years ago moving from Virginia to Maryland. Although I didn't have to change my job since I have worked in DC for the last 14 years, it still felt like I was starting anew. I'm in Queen Anne's County on the Eastern shore along with Terri (THERESEMARIE) so I can't help you out with your job search, but I wish you lots of luck!

Welcome Andy. I am very new to board and wish you well in your job search and your acclimation (sp) in the area. I am in Waldorf in Southern Maryland's Charles County. Retired from Federal government and relaxing from the hustle and bustle of working in DC. Hubby still works and resents my down time. Some not too expensive entertainment (as long as you eat before you go and you don't have to use too much gas to get there) are the Blue Crabs. I am not a real baseball fan but I went to my first game last night and had a great time, fireworks, fan participation throughout the night and they won 11-10. Once again good luck in all your endeavors.
