Entering into Womanhood (again)
Hey everyone:
I wanted to give you'll a quick update on how things were going. So far so good. Well, actually great. So far I'm down 36 pounds from my hghest weight of 260. I took my measurements on the 10th and so far here's the results: Neck = -2 inches, Waist = -1.5 inches, Hips = -4 inches, Thighs = 0 inches, Calves = 0 inches, It's weird that numericaly, there was no change in my legs, because that's where I feel most of the changes. But the lady who measured them said that it feels like it's mostly muscle.
Well as the title indicates, I'm being reintroduced to womanhood. I started my period Saturday, so we'll see how long it lasts. I haven't had a period in 11 years. For the longest time, I felt like a large piece of my feminity was taken away from me. Especially because I was also dealing with the other side of PCOS. That aspect has gotten better as well.
Yesterday was the first time I went to church in almost a year. A major reason why I didn't go to church was mostly due to exhaustion. No matter what I did or how many peppermints I would eat, I would always fall asleep in service. It was really embarrasing. but it also kept me from enjoying services as well. So yesterday was awesome to be able to go back to church. Who knows, maybe I'll go next Sunday.
The downside to yesterday was that I haven't beena able to tolerate much fish, which I really enjoyed. But it went into a talespin of not beign able to keep really anything down. So I was kind of miserable.
But all in all, things are moving right along.
Yah, this whole thing makes me feel like I'm gaining my youth back. I wanted to be involved in so many things, but had no energy to do nothing much more than work 8 hrs and go to school once a week. I probably should talk to my professors, I would always fall asleep in class! The next thing is to meet a nice gentleman.
We tried birth control for a while, but when my blood pressure starting rising then we stopped. But I also gained an incredible amount of weight right after the one period I did have on my own 11 years ago. But without the BCP's I wouldn't have a period.
First congrats on your weight loss. You are doing great
second.........It wasnt until my surgery that I started having normal cycles. Omce the weight started coming off the cycles were same time same amount of days. It makes you feel great. Being 2 years out and now off my pills (trying to start a family) I was scared they would be all wacky but they have come say time same amount of days. It's great to be normal.....lol
good Luck and much continued success.........your doing great
Deena,
Great weight loss! We're proud of you, and you should be too!!
I know what you mean about the PCOS and getting your periods again. Mine have been like clockwork since surgery, after being one or two a year for the past 15 years or so. I won't complain, even though they are annoying because I know it's a sign of being healthier.
