GREAT DEBATE #2 Open Marriages

I know there are many people out there that do have open marriages. As a matter of fact I was invited to share with a couple. We are good friends and I just could not.  I felt like it was weird to be approached and just to think that I would be in bed wih my friend's spouse........ Nahhhhhh it is not for me. Plus I am very selfish I don't share my mandingo I mean my man with others. lol

Call me old fashioned, but I take my wedding vows seriously, you know the part........ "foresaking all others.............." I think you can have deep relationships with people and be great friends, but when it come to intimacy and sex, that realtionship is strictly for my one and only.

It all depends!!  I'm not one that will share my man with nobody!  Now I'm not married, but when I was and was truly in love, heck no would I be willing to have an Open Relationship!!  Now towards the end of the marrieage, I didn't care who he was with because I was doing ME!!!  Teri

This is really a good topic however, being very unhappy in my married relationship and have been for many years and feel stuck at this time not to mention I am here because I have been a good catholic girl for too many I am not sure how I would answer.  With that said, I am person who loves people in general and especially men. I love men friends (unfortunately have not had any with benefits - could have but chose not too)  I agree with everyone's comments.  Can you all say SWINGTOWN!  LOL

Oh and FYI I think Will and Jada have an AWESOME marriage. They are not the only ones who have their marriage open. There are a few other celebs who do that atleast that we know of anyway. That actress from Maryland, Monique, has an open marriage. She was on Oprah talking about it. ;o) And I get survey bulletins from people on my myspace ALL THE TIME who admit to having an open marriage and its people you would least expect! No kidding!! I have been shocked a few times! ;o) ~Jilly~

I know a couple that had an open marriage (they don't anymore). They both worked for my company. I guess it got them some good times but it mostly got people talking about them around the water cooler. The woman was eventually accused of hitting on various customers. I later learned that if she wouldn't have moved on to another job that the company was going to get rid of her because of it.

I'm not knocking the lifestyle. If you're an adult and can make that adult decision than you need to be able to take any adult consequences as a result of that decision. I'm sure it works just fine for some couples but I'm thinking it does not work for most.
