What a great BIRTHDAY!!!!
So today, as I turn 34, I sit and ponder this last year of my life. What an amazing journey it has been. Just ine year ago, I was told that I was looking a a lifespan of less than 20 years. Just last year, I was a mom to 4 wonderful girls, that I truely could not meet thier needs. When I see pictures or video of that "mom" it makes me sad, and I cry for the lost time, the years that my kids did with out the Mom that they deserved.
It has been 7 months since my surgery, and 11 1/2 months since I made the decision to take control of my life. In that time, I have begun to be a new person, a woman that is full of love and joy. A mom who can run and play with her kids, and a wife that can be a help meet to my husband.
May I say that all my friends on this board - I owe all of you a huge THANK YOU. For with out your support, both before and after this surgery, I would not be were I am right now.
I am eternally greatful to those who take the time to stay well after thier surgery and meet the needs of those of us just learning. Who time after time patiently explain and lift up those that need it.
You are all an amazing group of people.
THANK YOU.
Oh and in case you were wondering - I had 2 fork fulls of a sugar free cheese cake from Yia Yia's bakery for my special day.
It certainly was no "costco- filled" cake, but it worked!
