THURSDAY EXERCISE
Okay, so yesterday's debut of the exercise thread was outstanding!!! Now, lets see if we can let that pregame speach last longer than the opening kickoff. Sorry, a little football lingo. Anyway, lets keep up the good work today. For those of you that haven't started an exercise program yet, or haven't done any in a while, get off your butts and get moving TODAY - not tomorrow or Monday.....TODAY!!!
For me, that means a 7 mile run through not-so-beautiful downtown Phoenixville, PA. Until I settle into Maryland and find a gym, running on the pavement is going to have to do for now.
How about you? What's on your agenda for today?

Good morning Andy! Well yesterday I did 30 minutes on the treadmill alternating between 3.0 and 2.5 for a total of about 1.2 miles. I tried to do more like being on the stationary bike but that was such an awkward position, my knees weren't having it. Forget about the elliptical...those things are painful for me right now LOL
Today I get my first shot of synvisc in my right knee for the arthritis and I hope it works. One of our lurkers has had the same shots and she said that it takes about 3 months for the shots to really make a difference....I really hope it doesn't take that long for me.
I actually feel better today after last night's walk. My knees are aching like crazy but the rest of me is feeling pretty good. Today after I get my shot, I'll have to see if there are any short term restrictions. I'm starting to obsess with this 5K walk and I'm still motivated to do it!
This leaves me with a question to some of you that may have this problem. At my largest, I had thighs that were 40 inches around each! After losing 120 pounds, I'm faced with a dilemma that when I walk, all the fat on the inner thighs keeps trying to knock me off my balance because it's now SUPER loose and it makes me waddle still. I thought about binding them up really tight with ace bandages while I walk. Does anyone else out there have any other suggestions?
Compression shorts .. or whatever they are called .. like biker shorts (spandex thingys) .. but under your regular workout shorts/pants ??? I see men at the gym all the time with what look like spandex type shorts under their workout clothing.
Hugs, Mo
Comparison is the thief of joy!
If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished. Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago. I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits! Wherever you are in your journey ... It's ALL good!!!
Thanks MO!!!!!
I actually ordered a couple pairs of compression pants and I hope to get them next week. I think they will help immensely not only with my thunder thighs but also the venus stasis in my lower calves (the swelling and discoloration issue in the lower calves that you see on a lot of overweight people).
Hugs!
Aaron
Good Morning Andy,
Yesterday I went to the gym, did 54 minutes on the treadmill. Today I plan to go to the gym after work. Like yesterday, I can hardly wait for the end of the work day so that I can go workout.
Have a great day everyone!!! -Antoinette

I am getting my sneakers on now to go out for my first of 2 20-25 minute walks today. There is a path of cement up and down hills around the complex here so I have to do the first before I'll end up to stinky at my desk. The 2nd will be after dinner tonight in the neighborhood.
But I also just made a spreadsheet of toning exercises I need to get back into doing - I am much better if I have a list with check-boxes to make me accountable. So the goal is to do my 20 min of toning stuff tonight too!
Thanks Andy!
