Thanks Andy- from reading the threads this is something everyone can use even me.   Unfortunately I have joined a nice fitness center a month ago I am now 8 weeks post op and have jus now returned to work this week. I have had this awful Orthostatic Hypotension on an ongoing basis and it is awful. My blood pressure drops when I stand up to about 50/30 they don't know why still undergoing tests..   I am taking a vasoconstrictor medication midodrine 3 times a day just to be able to walk and do what I need to do to take care of myself.   I am hoping to be able to start at the fitness center a little bit next week after taking my medication, I may be able to get in a little bit of excercise. I am really upset about this unforseen medical condition as I was so pumped up about joining the gym and working out after surgery it is a real slap to me. But I plan to do what I can, when I can.  Thanks  Terri

My husband (bike) rides with a neighborhood group Wednesday and Friday so I usually hit the gym after work.  A bit rushed today due to a swim meet but did  "4"  2.9 mile "routes" on the EXPESSO FITNESS bike at the YMCA.  First route took 12 min 24 sec., 2nd 12 min 12 sec. 3rd 12 min 12 sec and last 2.9 miles route took 12 minutes 4 seconds.  I love this stationary bike - it has different routes you can ride from 1 mile up to 20 miles - with hills and flats and the ability to change the gearing to climb or descend. Unfortunately Thursday and Friday are going to be just as rushed - ugh.  I usually allow 1 hour for myself at the gym - I wish I could do more but between work and family it tough to find more time.  Even if I don't have an hour - like today - I still try to go and do at least 30 minutes of something!!!!

Tia - you crack me up!   And Eric - so sorry to disappoint - unfortunatetly the hour+ drive stands in the way - oh yea, and that whole spouse-thing you have going on...    Yes...a very nice neighbor moved in - and I joked about getting a good work out last night - But  on a serious note, something VERY exciting happened in my life - DON'T GO THERE, TIA..... For years, after dinner I would beg my ex-husband to get up after dinner and go for a walk with me and the kids. I always had this vision of the kids on the scooter or bike and us walking through the neighborhood, looking at the yards and moving a little after eating. Well - the ex is/was a slug and that never happened.   So last night I fix this neighbor fella some dinner - oh, did I mention that he is a kinda small guy, same height as me, and I swear I think he's got like 3% body fat, and he eats like me---we split a pork chop and had a little side Greek salad with skim feta---and when we were done I asked if he wanted to go for a walk-and his face lit up! Wooo Hoooo, seems his ex would never walk either!

Yes, I'd imagine his wife may take issue with other women hanging around...who could blame her now that she's got herself a new little hottie! And don't 'cha know, curiosity killed the cat??? Caryn

I hope you can imagine my disappointment.  How can I ever live with myself knowing I may never get the opportunity to woo you??    That's a hard one to swallow.      However, I will say that I am truly happy for you.
