is your weight lifting restriction lifted?  I have had only one problem with lifting things and that was when I bought a new computer.  I lifted the box from my car to my house and it just about tore me up.  Just be careful hon :) HUGS!

You're such a sweetheart, thanks for caring.  I've been doing 15-20 lbs and mainly been working my arms.  I really need help with these triceps.  You know "bye bye arms" that women get.  They keep flapping even when you stop waiving! (LOL).  To be honest with you Aaron.  I got sick a couple of weeks ago and had to go to the emergency room (they didn't find anything to be wrong) told me it was a virus and I haven't been back to the gym yet.  I need to get my behind back in there!!!!!!

*knocking on wood* I haven't been sick yet.  I just don't know what I would do if I got sick!  I'm glad you're better though!

Since I have signed up for the challenge too, I plan to hit the gym today when I finish work. Another motivation is a doctor's appointment on Monday!   I haven't been in a few days but I have been getting in my walking as well as a few sessions with the new WEIGH2WIN DVD.  (If you haven't seen it, it is great!  For those of you coming to the Eastern Shore meeting tomorrow night, I plan to have it with me so everyone can see it!).  While at the gym, I will walk the treadmill and then do the weight circuit.  The only thing I am not allowed to do are those D**** leg presses that got me in trouble a few weeks ago.  We want to make sure I'm good and healed before I do those again!  Next!!!!  Deb

Move over and make room for me on the bandwagon Andy!! I think I'm going to like this thread - alot.  The motivation, the inspiration and the accountability pieces are EXACTLY what I need. I went to the gym after work yesterday and walked on the treadmill for 50 minutes. I can hardly wait for the end of the workday so I can go back. I have my one month post-op appointment next week and hopefully I'll get the all clear to start weight training. Peace and Blessings, -Antoinette

At one point I thought I wanted to lose 5 more lbs, but now I just want to tone up.  I have already lost more than what my original goal so the next goal is just to be very tone.  I am working with a trainer and we are making strides, but I can't wait to see the final results.  I am taking it easy for the next week or so.  Just until I can get myself feeling a little less tired.

today i am going to the gym to swim. it's been a long time since i went and i really need to get back on board with that. i also will do stuff at home with stretching mostly and some resistance band work. i have a back issue and need to strengthen my core muscles. i am also getting back together with my personal trainer who i plan to see once a week. i want to become addicted to exercise. it would make things so much better for me.

Great idea, Andy, so I'll add my two cents.  Yesterday, I went to my Tae Kwon Do lesson.  It's an hour long and I usually walk out of there dripping-wet with sweat.  In addition to our regular class, we had balance exercises yesterday against various partners.  The idea was to knock each other off-balance without losing balance yourself.  One contest consisted of playing sort of a "patty cake" game to push each other and then we moved onto a "shaking hands" type game to push each other off balance.  The losers of each round had to do 10 push-ups.  We already have to do 20-25 (gruelingly slow) push-ups as part of our regular warm-ups but I ended up doing about 50 more yesterday as a result of losing some of these balance games.  Needless to say, my shoulders are a bit  sore today.   I don't have anything formerly planned for this evening but, because my next belt test is coming up on the 19th, I figured that I would spend an hour practicing my moves, form and Korean terminology, which are all part of the test.  My TKD membership is for three  classes/wk so I'll be going again tomorrow.  Weds & Thurs classes are the best calorie-burning classes as they are contact (with pads) sparring days! --Eric

Everybody was Kung Fu fighting (Do do doot do do doot do do doot), those cats were fast as lightning (Do do doot do do doot do do doot)!!!  Too funny. Actually,I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be offended or not when people confuse the fighting styles.  Especially, when Kung Fu is Chinese and TKD is Korean.  I'll have to ask Master Shim about that.  LOL.
