HELLO MY NEW NEIGHBORS

I just wanted to take a minute to say hello and introduce myself.  My name is Andy and I am going to be moving to Elkton, MD this Sunday.  I'm coming from Pennsylvania. A brief history of my journey:  I had open gastric bypass surgery on 3-1-06 at Barix Clinic in Langhorne PA with Dr. Marymor.  I reached goal late in 2006 and have maintained since then.  I ran a couple of support groups in Pennsylvania and I'm currently looking into becoming a certified personal fitness instructor.  Exercise has become a very important part of my life as I've run a couple of 5K races as well as the 10 mile Broad Street Run in Philadelphia this year. I'm more than happy to help you with any questions you may have.  I have two beautiful young children, 9 year old Katelyn and 8 year old Corey.  I am also going through a divorce.  Don't feel bad, it was a long time coming.  One thing I learned along the way is you shouldn't stay with someone just because you have children.  In the long run, it does more harm than good.  Anyway, I just wanted to pop my head in and say hello.  I won't be a stranger and I look forward to interacting with you all starting now.  Take care my new neighbors.

Hey Andy!!!!  Just wanted to welcome you to the MD Board.  You gotta alot of great people on this board and I'm sure everyone will come by to say hello!!! There is alot of people on this board that have also made exercise a very important part of their life.  As for me, I'm so-so with the excercise...actually my surgery is next Friday, so I really need to get my butt in gear because I will definitely need to incoporate excercise into the gameplan in order to be more fit.  As for the divorce thing, hang in there....I've been there and done that....Single mom of 3 kids here.  Keep your head up!  I too am a firm believer that you should never stay for the kids because in the end it does more harm then good!  Well, have a safe move to MD and join us when you get settled! Welcome Andy So glad you decided to join us. We look forward to you joining us.  Elkton is a nice place you. Welcome, you're gonna love it here (OH that is).    Congrats on your journey, surgery and move to MD.    Looking forward to getting helpful tips from you and i am sure the rest of us are definately looking forward to helping you. 

Pitty you moving to Elkton..lol...(sorry my husband is from Elkton and I would rather be poked with red hot ice picks in my eye then to go to that town)...But ANYWAY...Welcome to the board, you will find that most of us are outspoken (but with good intentions), easy to get a long with and very sociable...We look after our own!!

Welcome Andy!  I too am a Philly girl and just love the Eagles!  I've been down here over 20 years now, so I've become a Ravens fan too - except when they play the Eagles, of course.  This board is great - everyone is pretty supportive.  This is pretty far for you in Elkton, but we meet the first Tuesday of every month in Glen Burnie - a really good group of folks.  We also have other social functions - join us. Andy - I was just given grief over not welcoming you to the Maryland Board, but I did that early on under the Carroll County Support Group meeting post!! Anyway, welcome again.  Please keep an eye out for our get-togethers, most, if not all, are family oriented, and a lot of people have children your children's ages, so they, too, are more than welcome to join us!!!!
