My pcp wants me to go to an obgyn (funny your all talking about it this morning).  She suggested having the ob check to see if I have endometriosis.  Anyone know how they would go about finding out if I have it (procedure)?????

I think they do a laproscopic procedure to look for tumors/fibroids (I'm not sure what the correct word is).  They found my endometrial cancer by doing a DNC.

Hey Terri - Within the last six months, I had an endometrial biopsy and a colposcopy.  Actually, two endometrial biopsies.  Everyone told me that they hurt like hell, but mine didn't.  I didn't understand all the fuss! HOWEVER, I had the second one done at the same time as the colposcopy, and OMG!  Can you say pain?  I told my gyn that he's never getting that deeply inside of me without me being knocked out!!!!  It was quick, but the pain was pretty horrendous.   So I'm not sure what you need to have done, and I hate to scare you, but um...................take PAINKILLERS BEFORE YOU GO!!!  In fact, the dr. will probably recommend it to you. Don't let me whining about the pain deter you though, take care of yourself and get it done! Tia

pain isn't a big deal for me when procedures are done.  been dealing with physical pain for 15 yrs (knees, back, foot, etc...)  just wasn't sure what the procedure is for that.  had an ultrasound, abdominal and pelvic, nothing spectacular.  dr just recommends being checked for endo.  haven't clued bf in yet about it.  don't want him worrying over something if its nothing.  plus he would think its his fault...(sex pain). and its not his fault.  its been off and on for years and getting more and more noticeable lately.  ugh...the things we women go through...would love a man to go through what we go through in a month...lol

Terri -  Amen to that, sister!  They have NO clue.   Here's a great website, www.mayoclinic.com - check it out.  They have a search feature where you can check on different conditions - it'll give you symptoms, causes, treatments, etc.   Hope this helps.  And just for the record, I have a really high pain tolerance and took TWO Vicodin before the second procedure.  I would rather have had my eyes poked out!!!! Good luck, Tia
