What hospitals do the varioius providers use?

I am just beginning the process and would like to choose a doctor that is associated with a hospital that is NOT clear across town because I imagine there is a LOT of follow-up..??? I can easily see which doctors you all used, but NOT the hospitals....can anyone tell me if any of the Baltimore area doctors use either Franklin Suqare of Bayview? Thanks so much.....By the way, my insurance will ONLY cover LAP BAND.

I just had surgery RNY with Dr. Averbach and he is with St. Agnes one of the other girls here Heathercat just had the lapband with him and did exceptionally well.   Not sure if St. Agnes s too far.

I, too, had my surgery with Dr. Andrew Averbach at St. Agnes Hospital.  I had a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy.  Don't know where St. Agnes is in relation to where you are.

Hey There I had my surgery at St Agnes with Andrew Averbach, he was great and the staff is as well. St Agnes is on Caton Ave in Baltimore near Cardinal Gibbons, really convenient to 695 Good Luck and keep us posted Jen

What I did when I started researching was pick the hospital I wanted then did a search for Bariatric Dr's practicing at GBMC.

My PCP recommended Dr. Vanguri at Franklin Square. I didn't use him, however, I've heard only wonderful things about him. I believe that April who posts on the board had her surgery with him, and she looks AMAZING.  I'm sure if you go to Franklin Square's website they will have info on Bariatric surgery and probably info on the docs there. That is how I found my surgeon, who I am very pleased with. I had my surgery at GBMC.

just so there is no confusion, when darla had her surgery, dr. von rueden was at GBMC.  he is now at st. agnes.  if you live near bayview, keep in mind that st. agnes is only a couple exits off of 95 south after you pass through the harbor tunnel.  not sure how close you are to the hospitals you mentioned, but taking a straight shot down 95 may be your quickest drive.

I'm also just getting started with the process. I'm waiting for Dr. Schweitzer's office to call and schedule my first consult. He's at JH Bayview. Good luck!
