Massive Craving - 3 weeks out
Tracey -
Sorry, honey, but if you can't, you can't. If it helps, think of the bacon as being WAY too greasy for your stomach to tolerate, and remember the recent tomato-salmonella scare!!! Plus, I have a REALLY hard time with bread - even at almost 3 years out.
So what food stage are you at? Maybe I can give you some suggestions.
Sorry I can't be of more help!!
Tia
Ugh. I had some vegetarian refried beans with a little melted cheese on it, plus some salsa to thin it out a bit.
It was good, but it sure as heck wasn't a BLT sammich.
I'm still in the mushy-food stage, although I have been incorporating more substantial bits in there now and then.
Today:
B - cream of wheat with skim milk and extra wheat germ
S - 1/2 freash peach
L - 2 ounces chicken
S - 4 tablespoons fat-free cottage cheese
D - 4 tablespoons refried beans/1 ounce cheese/1 teasp salsa
B-O-R-I-N-G!

I learned early on that there is ways to get around this but you have to be creative. So no bread at all, trust me you will wish you had died. BUT you can do a wrap. Bacon you would die from the grease and it would be hell, so what about smoked turkey, just a thought and you can have veggies with it.
Oh wait a minute, just a thought! how about turkey bacon you might be ok with that, there is not that much fat, it is pretty lean. I love it!
You know what else, ok stop me I am on a roll now, I did do bacon, Hormel in a jar has a LOW FAT bacon in the jar, check that out and it was good protein as well.
I hope that helps a little, I have been there. I am 10 months out and I want a cheese steak soooo bad but it is not worth it and not worth the pain or FAT!
Great suggestions, Kristen. Thanks!
I had cooked up 3 pounds of bacon yesterday so that I could make a massive pan of baked beans to take to a July 4th party, so the heavenly smell of bacon was wafting through the kitchen making me miserable.
For my personal contribution to the 4th party, I am bringing a cauliflower and cheese casserole from Eggface's website. It sounds really tasty.
Anyway, you've given some great alternatives to my bacon cravings, and I promise I WILL try them.
