GREAT DEBATE #3
My friend, Kelly who I have not seen in ages (live in Richmond) is paying a vist, so not sure what were we will be....Might be watching the DC fireworks on TV.....Love it when the play the 1812 overture....which has NOTHING to do with America whatsoever....it was written to honor the Russians beating the crap out of Napoleans Army in 1812....so why have we adopted it as part of our Independence Day Celebrations.....still great piece of Music
Happy 4th everyone and enjoy the day off
I have never taken Gabby to see fireworks, she has always been way to little and the noise would freak her out, she is 7 now and I am taking her for the first time. We are talking about a child who HATES thunder storms to no end.
So we have a cookout this afternoon and then we are headed to Pasadena. We have friends that live on the water. I am sure there is going to be tons of food. There is like 6 families all around the waterfront that spend like thousands of dollars on fireworks and they battle it out. I hear this is great fun. On that thought I think I better run to Walmart and get something so we are not eaten alive by bugs.
Enjoy your day!

we couldn't really plan a vacation this summer because we had no idea when i would be getting surgery. once i was sure it would not be this week, we went ahead and booked a few days in st. michael's to just rest and be leisurely. we are here now and it's been a LOT of fun (although i'm eating things i should NOT be eating... talk about a horrible case of 'last supper syndrome'). today, we are leaving st. mike's and heading over to seaford, de where my parents and sister live. we will watch the fireworks in laurel, de with them and then dine on all the rockfish we caught in the bay yesterday. tomorrow, we are heading home and then going to watch the BSO at oregon ridge. the fireworks display at the end of those concerts are so awesome. we look forward to those shows every year.
