Can anyone recommend a DS friendly PCP in Annapolis-Laurel area?
I met with my PCP today to discuss my upcoming BPD/DS surgery to make sure she was on-board with the procedure as I dont want to be PCP shopping immediately after the DS (I am self pay and going out of area for sugery).
Although I came to her with a booklet I had put together with all medical citations, facts on effacacy olf the DS in SMO population, etc etc etc since she had never heard of it - it couldnt be good. Refused to even look at my data beyond a cursory glance.
Any input you have will be appreciated.

my primary care is dr. david freas in waugh chapel in gambrills. he's a great doctor and i love him to death. he not only is supportive of my decision, he talks to you on a very friendly level. two gals i his office have had the surgery - one without issues and the other with major issues (her intestines basically died and had to be removed, so they had to reverse her bypass). in any event, i feel comforted that i will have a pcp that can help me down the road post-op when i'm not seeing my surgeon any longer or as frequently. this was important to me and i actually switched to dr. freas because i read on this site several years ago that he was wls-friendly.
My PCP has been very supportive and encouraging. Dr. Garth Ashbeck with Maryland Primary Care in Arnold. They are right across from the AA Community College. Even when I was looking into the mini-gastric bypass a couple years ago, he took the entire manual on it that I brought to him and read through it. Then encouraged me to talk to a surgeon friend of his that does not do WLS about that procedure vs. the RNY to get an unbiased opinion. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Ashbeck, he is awesome!

Let me know if you find someone. My PCP is in nova and has been very supportive but I'm not sure how much time or interest she has in really learning either. I would like to find a doc who knows something about the DS. I've actually considered on the "botique" docs if they knew about the DS.
