Hey all, I just wanted to let you know that the psychiatrist that used to work for the bariatric unit at johns hopkins doesn't anymore. not sure if she is still there but just not doing the bariatric stuff or she left. she had a unique name, varsha or something like that. anyway the new lady is not a psychiatrist but a psychologist. i actually talked to her on the phone cuz my binge eating is rearing up and i need to deal with this NOW. anyway, she seems really nice and she is going to contact me again this week to come up w/ the plan possibly being treated by her and a psychiatrist that specializes in eating disorders. so i am really excited. i think i need this additional attention to get over this eating disorder. it is so strong and i'm wondering if it's not all cuz of my emotional state but just the fact that my brain ain't working right and just needs the right treatment. please keep your fingers crossed for me. i so want to overcome this and am scared. she sounded so nice though. i will pay out of network if i have to, which i will! but that is ok. i just need to see someone who knows what they are doing. wish me luck!

Nicole: Sounds like a good plan.  Better to take action than not.  How's the new job?

Nicole, Good job taking the first step! I believe I met with the new person at JH. She was very open & friendly in my opinion. Best of luck to you as you work through this! Heather
